If I was to depend on a sickle bar I would still be in this field.

We also had help this weekend, our son and grandson came for two full days. We got 250 bales wrapped up while they were here.

Ian helped Grandma,

About 130 left to bale when it dries out at MM. Still have our little oats and peas patch and 250 acres of hay to cut at home.

Nice to see lotsa good hay. And good help with more coming!

Did you make much dry hay this year? Ended up wrapping most of ours, just the way it turned out.

Things look good up there Gcreek. I was trying to finish baling my green feed last night and at around 11:00 it rained just enough to make it tough. Now they are calling for showers today. I only had 20 acres left. I love the moisture, because the alternative sucks, but I have been battling it all summer.

We haven't wrapped a bale yet. A lot of it got showered on but none is really discoloured. Big savings in time and wrap.

Will wrap the oats for sure.

Things are looking good in your country, Gcreek. Be glad for the hay. It's valuable stuff. Maybe your disbine is the wrong color.

are there any black discbines? then he'd be welding the frame all the time, continous flat tires even tho its on 12ft of topsoil, and getting kicked by the pto... Ian would have to keep helping grandma.

-8 Celcius this morning at 6. It has now warmed right up to -5 and a nice little snow flurry blew through about 10 minutes ago.

Forecast is for this cold front to blow out by tommorow and back to sun and warmer temps.

Looks like a bookwork kind of morning.

Hay looks sweet! Glad to see somebody getting some put up. It is tough to find hay out here and when ya find it ya gotta need it pretty bad to pay north of $200 a ton. I'd take 100 tons of that pretty meadow hay if you'll pay the frieght! Grandson is a cute little guy and i love his dad's t-shirt saying.

found 150 ton , 1/2 2nd alfalfa $180/ton 1/2 grass $165/ton for a friend that was going to haul it 450 miles one way home, if he backs out I give you a call H, 4x4x8 bales

Sure looks good Gcreek. I can't believe how good that foxtail looks for the time of year. The reason we are trying to eradicate it here is that by the time the rest of the hay is ready the foxtail is pretty much unpalatable it's so far past it's prime. :(
Thanks for the pics!

things are lookin' good gcreek. the little man is sure growin :D happy to see your hay crop, it was slim pickins around here. first cutting was horrible, second cutting was better but nothing to brag about. i got a few loads of canadian hay hauled in, could use more but i think i'll wait till the price goes up.

Look at all that hay! Sure looks peaceful out there! Sorry to see that dreaded mechanical prolapse! Fine help you have!

It has been a good summer Justin. Another 2 weeks would be nice.

Other than the weather, how are things at your Hacienda. You ever get those free goats I found delivered to H's yard?

Glad to hear from you. :D
