Pulling bulls on a nice cool Sunday morning. It was 47 degrees early, and by mid-afternoon warmed up to 98 degrees.

Taking off the goggles and trying to look more like a supervisor. I was the spotter today. Filled the Ranger with gas,
punched the trip button, and put on 32.2 miles this morning. The horseback riders probably rode nearly twenty miles
each before arriving back home.

Heck, Soap, those bulls look as good as if they had EPD's.
:P :lol2: :lol2:

When we have a drought, we don't have much green grass, if any.
You have a drought and the grass looks pretty darn good. :-)

There must have been a little bit more rain north of the state line this summer. For some reason, the rough South Dakota chop hills seem greener than the normally better hay meadow-gently rolling hills on the Nebraska side of the line. Either that, or it didn't frost as hard in late May, or possibly there are just less grasshoppers that found their way up there.

We had a fire here today, must have started from a cigarette. Burned
250 of our lessee's hay bales. But the real excitement was a 13
car train derailment about 8 miles from us. It was hauling hazardous
material (which turned out to be alcohol, so nothing deadly) but
one car blew up--blew a fireball over 100' in the air. 5 cars were on fire
and another one blew too. Lots of fire-fighters were needed and came
from Baker, Plevna, Ekalaka and Wibaux, plus concerned ranchers.
Sounds like there is a lot of debris to clean up.

I took some pictures of our 'little' fire and will post tomorrow. Couldn't get to
the other one as the road was closed from Baker to Miles City.
I don't know how many acres were burned. Too many, for sure.
But no one was injured. Warren Buffet owns the railroad and he's done
a lot of work on the track, so I don't know what caused the derailment.

Thank you for posting pics aI enjoy the ranching pics... the bulls look like there in great shape.. well the cost of time with Mom is priceless..

great pic's as usual Soapweed, nice to have your family so close and be able to work with them. if and when you get to town could you catch us up on Sparky's endeavors, he seems to get left out on the ranch photo shoot's

With a helmet, pair of goggles and a sporty bike like that you are probably headed to the Buffalo Chip for the Lynrd Skynrd concert this week aren't you Soap. I bet you would fit right in. I haven't ever seen you in a crowd where you couldn't find someone to visit with.
