So right Soap. Seems everytime I move cattle there has to be one that causes trouble.

And bulls, arg!!! They are a necessary evil, but they are sure exasperating when you go to move them.

We weaned yesterday. Cows really didn't want to travel, and 1 in particular was just plain aggravating. She decided that the river might be her place of sanctuary. Lisa chased her out there for a bit, then I decided to bail off the steep bank and help. Right in that particular area, a person can fill 17 inch tall boots clear full of water, even if you are riding a 16 hand horse. We found a hole that was deep enough that my poor old Frog horse had to swim. What a day! But we did get 100% of the cattle gathered, out of some really rough country. Was too busy riding to get any pictures, besides all my cameras are in the shop, and I haven't figured out this smart phone yet.

I guess there isn't any point in taking it down now as there are 250 views to this thread, but I had explicit directions for a certain older gentleman who will remain unnamed yet has the moniker of an abundantly noxious and spiny plant to keep the "chicken judging" thing under his "wing." As most father/son relationships are concerned- communication is a hard barrier to overcome...

I am sorry if I offend the true chicken lovers of the bull session realm but I don't really want my "handle" out or consider myself a connoisseur of fine chickens :-) . I promise, whether you believe me or not, that I did this only as a favor to a friend on the extension board.

Now that I have thoroughly explained my rebuttal to the best of my abilities, I will conclude by saying that someone is in the dog house or shall I say the chicken coop?

Did you wear your boots and spurs as part of your judging attire?

To be truthful, I kind of like looking at chickens, just got tired of going to town for a bag of lay ration and 2 dozen eggs years ago.
