I have a calf approximately 2 months old & it is not considered a male or female. It urinates from an opening under it's belly located about 7 - 8 inches behind where it should be if the calf was a bull. It has no testicles. The calf is very healthy looking. Has anyone ever heard of such? I have not contacted a veterinarian about this yet.

I ran into a few weird deals like that A'I'ing heifers over the years. You'd think guys would notice something amiss before the A'I guy was there and the semen thawed lol.

We had a share calf exactly like that a few years ago. We got it to put on a cow that had lost her calf, and they told me it was a bull calf. When I went to band it I couldn't find anything to put the band on :o . It grew out well, and we made beef out of it. They're called hermaphrodites.

hermaphrodites.

We had a puppy with male/female organs - I noted its Belly swelling and when the mother licked it - it did not Pee. I could lower the Swelling with a needle - so I made a small "Incision"...

At 10 weeks the puppy was doing well - our Vet had said it would not live past a week - Now he wanted it SO WE GAVE IT TO HIM...

Our local livestock barn is looking for anything and everything under the sun to dock our livestock and paychecks. Sometimes it is just plain
ridiculous!!

I have seen some funny things going to these sale barns over the years. Tuesday we had one come in that it walked like a Dresssge horse (very high leg action) it was funnies thing we have ever seen. Then about a year ago one sold that was a male and female. We was kidding that it could bred itself and never need a bull or a cows.

So I am wondering if the livestock sale barn will dock us for this calf when she/he is sold.

Some people find value in hermaphrodites using them as gomers.

When I was working for a guy training Cutting Horses 6 years ago, we had a 4yr old mare in the barn who had a nasty attitude like a Stud and more so around the mares… Turned out she was a Hermaphrodite and instead of where her ovaries should have been, she had testicles. We took her to CSU where they made small incisions on both sides of her and "gelded" her. After that she turned out to be an excellent gelding! :)
