Baby Name Search

We know a family who named their fist boy "KYD".
At first I thought it was just odd, but he is in his 20's now,
and you know, it's a pretty good name.

Our daughter's name is Bernadette. I think it is a lovely name
but she sure got tired of writing it when she was in school.
Now her Barber Shop in Gillette, Wyoming is "Bernadette's
Barber Shop." She put that in the back window of her pickup
and it takes up all the room!!!

Then a guy named his son, Ty Hardin...he loved calf roping and
the old team roping(before dally roping was popular)...what
can I say...

In Jr. High some of us decided we didn't like our names. For some reason I chose Patricia over Anne  We convinced one of the teachers he should start calling us by our new names and were sooo pleased when he did.
As I think about it, that was unusual for a teacher to do the "pal" thing back then when they were more straight-laced and held in awe by the students. Never saw any talking back to teachers etc during that era. We were always amazed if we even saw one in the food store...you mean he eats just like us!
And my mother WAS a teacher. go figure!

My folks were going to name me Bernadeen.(sp) After my dad.
Thankfully they changed there mind the last minute and called me katrina lea.........
My poor brother got Bernard Tracy...... Poor soul... We still tease the dickens out of him........

I like JW (Justin Wyatt; Justin Wade...) for a boy

And Emily Aletha for a girl (mainly because I like Aletha).

I have a very long and unique name...trust me don't do that to your child. I always have to spell it or explain where it came from, or talk about some group I've never seen..... It gets old. But, it is always a nice ice breaker.

OK-- and :???: You aren't going to leave us hanging there are you?

Yea, I thought I would. I'm kind of cruel like that   ....but since it's you, oldtimer... I'll spill the beans  ....

Tenneile

I'll try to answer the questions everyone askes

Yes, like Captain and Tennille

Yes, my parents liked their music (mainly my mom).

Yes, I know where the captain is (My hubby. And yes, somepeople call him Captain).

No, I don't look like her (ofcourse, I've only seen her pictures like once or twice)...... I think that's about it. :D

Thanks-- I knew that to-- but my oldtimers mind forgets...Cute name- and I listened to a little of their music too...I'd almost forgot about them...Toni Tennille was a cutey....

Do you go by a nickname? Thats the thing in our family- doesn't matter what your name is because you're going to get called something else anyway...

there is a Tenneile that lives about.. Oh 5 miles from here I would say... Maybe closer, her husband and FIL are some of the bigger custom farmers in the area... So you are not the only one.. I would guess she is in her mid 30's.. Don't know her too well, helped pull her out of a ditch when her little car slid into it next to one of our cow pastures.

In highschool I had 3 close friends that called me Tenn. My brothers picked up on it and now they and there wives call me Tenn.

Northern Rancher, I wish it were for looks...but I don't think anyone is that conceited...

My hubby changes my nickname about weekly... right now it's Bunny because I'm always complaining about the rabbits eating our hay.

People at work, just call me T ( I think it's because they are lazy...

I always liked Teal (my youngest brother called me this when he couldn't talk too well), or Tenny, but they never stuck. Eveyone else just calls me Tenneile or "hey you" 8)

I went to college with another Tenneile, was really freaky. She was in the same dorm, but different floor. I think all of us are in our 30's though, kind of dates us.

Buckerette, when I was in High School, there were 2 Tenilles in the same grade, one behind me. One spelled thataway, and one spelled Tanille. They were both 10's if ya know what I mean.

The wife mentioned last night that JW should stand for Jesse William. I guess that would do. Her family is all Russian Mennonite and German, so there's some real interesting names in that tree. That's where we got "Aletha" from. That's her Grandma Edith's middle name. Her Grandma's siblings were Sergei, Gunther, Malita, Oscar, and Artur. No H. When you go through their history book, it's good reading. Lots of Gunther's and Gunner's, Petr's, Severan's, which is my brother-in-law's name, and Alexander's.

My name is Mairi...trust me I've never seen that on a mug or really anything else for that matter, its not made up it Gaelic for Mary,my grammas name,I'm more then a little proad of it and love the fact I've never met anyone else with that name, :)

That is a very pretty name. I am partial to gaelic though  Mine is Randi Liana. And I always loved it. No-one could ever spell it right, and I was occaisionally mistaken for a boy, but I still love it. And when I married I went for the guy with the impossible to spell last name, so now it never fails either first or last is misspelled :D

My sister is Dalise which is a combo of Dale and Louise. Then there are Tara(sister) Dana(brother) and Cody(brother).

Jinglebob
Soooo, does this mean we can call you BB for short?

Ummm...... well I suppose ya could, I have been called worse....   Actually you can call me most anything just don't call me late for supper

Pure Country - WOW, I think Tenneile is a more popular name then I thought.

I had a friend named Aletha, always thought it to be a beautiful name!
