BAD DAY!!!

Northern Rancher said:
Ohh not saying they never kill anything but I consider it a cost of doing business in God's country.
It is a cost, just that the interest is a little high. Tell you what, I don't know you, you don't know me, but I'll trade you ranches for 1 year, sight unseen. Maybe we'll both learn something new. Hey.

The hunting WAS good Per, until Fish & Wildlife thought they could manage it greeny style. We've been thinking of relocating to Sask. for a couple of years.... be a good experiment for us, wouldn't it? :D

Maybe you could make some sort of Reality show about it and enhance the income of both ranches. Too bad about the hunting.

No chancy Mr.Whelan-I've got the best whitetailhunting in Canada a mile from my doorstep.I spend the winter in the rink lol. I've found through the years that when people with problems-neighbors,government.predators etc-move to escape those problems they seem to just follow them along to their new location. Thanks for the offer I might relocate for a couple weeks during elk season.

NR You should do a little more homework on the topic being discussed before expounding your knowledge. There are NO elk here-Thank God. You have no idea why we want to relocate but the real reason was to buy CHEAP land from broke Sask farmers who whine about no money but spend their time in the coffee shop, curling rink, or on holidays in the sun. You might have noticed that I did not criticize your methods of AI. I have always been interested about it, but since I know little about it other than the basics, I kept my opinions to myself. I am sure you can manage your operation very well, please don't make uneducated speculations about how to run mine or about what kind of person I am. My friends from the flat country that have visited here have all said that if anyone can ranch in this country, they can ranch anywhere in the world. End of lesson for today. :tiphat:

I don't recall mentioning your operation EVER-I find it pretty amazing how somebody who can ranch in rough wolf country on a four wheeler though. By the way if I want a lesson I'll ask for one. By all the means buy up some cheap country and teach all us whiners how to ranch-it just might be the revelation we've been waiting for. Ok I'll relocate during moose season then lol.

NR If you weren't refering to my op. specifically, please accept my apology for assuming so. You did make it sound that way to me. Come for a visit and you'll find I'm a pretty amazing person at a lot of things I do. When most major services are 340 kms away you learn to do a lot of things yourself. After watching people move in and out of this area for 30 years and showing us how to ranch you can be sure that if we do relocate to the flat country you may be one of the first people we contact for advice. I've found that things that work in one area don't always work in others. As far as hunting goes you would have to hire an outfitter, ( those are the rules! ) we have both moose and caribou here. Now, let's both stop whining and carry on the good conversations here on Ranchers.net Regards, Dave :-)
