We just got our calves weaned yesterday-the cows looked pretty good for the winter we had. Emily helped sort after school-time to start training another cowboy-hopefully next year she's be sorting on her paint filly from Connie and Don. You can see it's still winter and that horses can run with cows-they take about a minute to sort-All I do is walk to the gate and beller out Horses and they head over. Hopefully were done blizzards and -40-every time we planned to wean earliar on one or the other hit.

Not really-the horses spend more time pawing around on the old feedgrounds-they are in about same body condition as the cows are-we've never had trouble with horses and cows-there's five studs running out there and they don't bother-I think you have problems when being around cows is a novelty not an every day deal. we run our studs and mares in the same pasture-they get their favs and stay clear of each other even in a pretty small field.
