Well- we spent all day- and finished up getting the yards/haypens cleaned out after our weekend snow/blow-for what seems like the 99th time- just in time for the Weather forecasters to start advising more snow tonight- and forecast snow every day this week- and another winter storm/blizzard for the weekend.. :( !!!

Surprise Surprise- Snowing again!! Then the forecast weekend storm which they say could produce another foot or more of snow- and 30+ mph winds for blizzard conditions- then back into the deep freeze with the Canadians sending us minus 20-minus 30 temps...

Glasgow weather guy summed up the long term quite well:
"TO SUM UP THE EXTENDED FORECAST PERIOD...OLD MAN WINTER CONTINUES HIS STRONG HOLD ON NORTHEAST MONTANA WITH NO WARM UP IN SIGHT."

Makes me wonder what Old Ma Nature did to upset Old Man Winter so bad :???:  :P

Reminds of what my dad said about NE Montana. He'd spent 6 months in Antarctica and 6 months in Greenland on top of a life in Northern Mn and claimed the coldest he'd ever been was a winter in Flaxville MT.

I heard on the radio this morning that over 500 manatees aka sea cows have died because of the cold weather in Florida. They said there were only 5000 left on earth. Wait till Al Gore hears about this.

Yep--back when the Air Force Base was still open here-- the only places the old Airmen that had been around said that might be worse than Glasgow Air Force Base were Tule Greenland and Minot ND..... According to them Alaska was a piece of cake in comparison.....

A few years back the State was thinking of putting a prison at the old GAFB-- which I thought was a perfect idea- because 10-15 miles from nowhere- they wouldn't have anyone trying to escape during the winter months...

It snows every day but we haven't really had a snowstorm so to speak. Warmed up and rained today-there was a terrible head on crash a few miles east of town this A'M.

I can see Flaxville from the divide hills in my winter pasture. :?

What did he do in Flaxville?

He worked at the Farmers Union station 1960-62 then went into construction. He worked at the Glasgow base during the expansion and then went into GFAB missile sites.

I was down to Medicine Lake MT today. It was a nice day when we left and 20 miles away at the port it was foggy overcast down to Plentywood and the not bad in Medicine Lake but rained a bit while I was there then north of Plentywood a lot of nasty ground drifting and fairly nice again here at the ranch. No predicting what you will see on the roads every few miles. :?

This is what the sky looked like here yesterday and will again today. When that arch disappears we will join all of you with winter again.

It's above freezing here today too if it's not too icy I might see if I still remember how to ride a horse lol. Were headed into Viking/Irma this weekend for Emily's hockey sure hope the roads aren't as icy as the rink. A big chunk of winter is gone by should bode well for hunting next year some really good bucks have picked up body condition after the rut. I have a memory of Richardton, North Dakota I was in a gas station at about 3'00 A'M trying to buy a pop and they wouldn't take Canadian money even when I offered them 2-1-they lost a beef jerky sale over that one too.

Winds were howling over here yesterday. Still blowing this morning. Came home from Great Falls in a ground blizzard. Passed a state plow truck in the ditch.
Had a couple of oh crap moments on the roads
Just glad our county guys got that one corner plowed out or there would have been no way to get home.

Pop by if you have time. 619 is by far the fastest way to Irma/Viking from the Lake of the Meadow...
