I totally forgot, but I am in need of a good beer bread recipe. There is someone who will be coming for graduation who loves beer bread. I would love to make some to have with dinner tomorrow.

Any feedback or suggestions are greatly appreaciated.

here is the recipe I use on the wagon cooking. It is pretty heavy and dense but hard to beat when its hot out of the oven.

Beer Bread

3 cups flour
1 tbs. baking powder
5 tbs. sugar
1 room temp 12 oz. beer opened

Dough will be thick and heavy. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes and then butter top and bake another 10 minutes, use a or Dutch oven.

In Lonesome Dove, it looked like there was always a dutch oven hanging from the rear axle while underway. Was that for transporting hot coals from camp to camp ? or am I way off ?
