I can't for the life of me remember who on ranchers.net owns this bull-I apologize for that. Anyway I got my ABS catalogue and he looks very good-does anyone know what he's priced at-I can't find a price list anywhere in my catalogue-they decided not to put any actual performance data in on any bulls either-strange decision I think. But I'd like more info on the bull if possible.

lazy ace and I, ok more so lazy ace :D , know a fair bit about BHR Golden Boy 453B.

Here's a link to his pedigree:

We have a few calves out of him. They are younger calves as we used him clean up. We have two sons in our sale, and they've done well on test. Both gained well and also ultrasounded well. I don't have pictures of those two calves with me, but lazy ace does, and maybe he'll post them. They are deep, soggy calves, and the heifer mates seem to follow the same pattern. As well, they sure seem to have sound feet and legs.

His MGS has probably had more positive impact on our herd than any other bull we've used. BHR Logan 734B sires beautiful females that are the functional easy keeping, easy calving kind with great udders and feet. As a matter of fact, Stevenson Basin bought a bred heifer from us this fall and her MGS is also Logan 734B.

Hope this helps NR. If you do use him, I'd be interested in knowing how the calves work, good, bad, and well, ugly! And, sorry I don't know how he's priced.

I'm sure lazy ace can and will add more!

Cheers---

Northern Rancher - ABS lists the performance stats in the back of the catalog. Also, they put the prices in the summary pages in the middle of the Angus or Red Angus bulls. It will list all bulls, epd's and prices on those two breeds, maybe more.

Sure like the bull - Good luck with your sale!

Well I can't find the prices there either-I hate catalogues like that where you have to jump all over the place to find things out. My daughter has a nice little herd of reds cows I'm going to try him on I think. I think the ABS red angus bulls look aot more useful on average than their black ones.

His semen is priced at $20 and $35 for certificate. He is owned by Broken Heart Ranch, SD. If they are on ranchers.net, I don't know who they are.

Northern Rancher he is scheduled for being picked up March 2. I hope that everything goes well with the collection process in Wisconsin. He is just the way he looks, easy keeping. We called him about a 6.2 frame as a yearling and when the vets semen tested him he had 40 scrotal at 13 months.

have a cold one

Thanks AX-

We appreciate it! Sales have been a little tough---so hopefully we have what it takes to break the trend.
