Well, we have someone in our hunting party that saw a hog of a non typical whitetail. Junk everywhere and DOUBLE DROP TINES! We are going after him in the morning with three trucks of guys, one truck is filled with bush pushers, gonna try and get him!!
 
I agree NR we have a batch of idoits who chase them with pickups even..... we need to thin down the deer but at least make a sport of it.
 
A big old deer like that if he's hunted right would be a fun hunting project for sure. The only pushes we do are 'scent pushes'-one guy will stillhunt through the bush upwind while another guy posts or stillhunts downwind-you catch those big bucks trying to sneak out once in awhile. I did the bushpush thing when I was a kid too-you kind of had to do what you were told by the adults but haven't done one in years. too many highspeed chases-hail mary shots-and wounded deer for me.
 
ACS just a word of advice you can b.S. the fans but don't try and B.S. the players. Three truckloads of guys aren't going anywhere to still hunt. I see you guys got one-as you get older you'll appreciate the hunt more and the ganging up on a buck to kill him less.
 
No bull NR, let me explain it THOUROUGHLY.

Me-I need someone over 16 with me at all times. Dad was there. That makes two. Sheldon came along with us because he diddnt want to go to moms. that is three. We took the smaller bushes at the south end of the section. Uncle Gary and braeden. They brought along the rest of the family (4) so that is 6. 6+3=9. They pushed the big bush in the middle. Grandpa, Uncle patrick, and Arnold. They stood point at their corners of the section. 9+3=12. You cannot put 12 people in 2 trucks, therefore three trucks of people went stillhunting. We used the trucks in the afternoon when it got windy to cover mroe ground after someone else shot the buck. We got a buck that grossed 196 and scored 187 2/8. We were using the trucks at the time to pretty much scout for next weekend.

Just because you do it different, doesnt mean our way is wrong. We have two of the people that are over 60. 1 needs a double hip replacement, and one has severe prostrate cancer. That is the reason we hunt the way we do, because our hunting times with those two is limited and it is the only way that they can hunt. I dont think it is a good idea to use a .243 on anything bigger than a deer, but I dont say anything, they can do what they want whthin the laws and we will do the same.

What do you mean jigs? All I meant to say is, we all hunt for different reasons, in different ways. Just because you don't like the way that we hunt, doesnt mean that you have to say it.

The way you hunt is a joke, 3 people shooting at the same deer at the same time is a joke, the way you lob lead at deer is unethical and your about the biggest bullshitter i've ever came across. The true value of a hunt is not found simply filling all 40 of your tags.
 
Workhard, the way you RIDICULE others is a joke, but do I say anything? NO. Do you know why? I am entitled to my opinion and you are to yours, but the way that we do something is our buisness, not yours. BTW, all I have tags for is my three whitetails (It gaev me an excuse to spend time with dad, when else I dont get that PRIVELIDGE because my mother doesnt live with my dad.) I got a moose tag as a gift for my first year of highschool, and my draw mule deer and elk. 3 people shooting at the deer IMHO is alright, because if the first guy doesnt hit it, the second and or third will. Tow shot at the same time. I enver said all three shot.

Like I have said, the true value of a hunt is the experiences, not what you get. If you go to kill, you are a murderer, if you go to make memories, you are a hunter. A wise man told me that the only way to get somewhere in this world is not to hold against, but to forgive. WHSH, will you leasestop this attacking so we can agree on similar terms??

I just appreciate the hunt more than the kill. and you described a situation I fight here every year. everyone wants to push deer, so by time they get to my land they are goosie as hell.

best deer hunt in my life was two years ago, my 4 yr old was bow hunting with me, we watched a doe for 15 minutes or so, finally gave up on her leading a buck in, and I went to draw on her.....little girl puts her hand on my arm and says " don't shoot the mommies"

we watched another 5 minutes, and she got around us and winded us.

I doubt I will ever get another hunt like that one.

Some places don't have trees to sit in. And the only way to find deer is to push them. Every region takes a different way of hunting to be successful. Our deer mainly move at night, so the only way to find them during the day is to push them out of cover. We pretty much hunt them like pheasants. I scout before the season, and you generally have an idea of where they might be but that doesn't mean they are just going to walk by you on any given day. I've walked thru sloughs before 2 feet away from deer, and they won't get up, won't even move until you almost touch them. I've also hunted from tree stands. The deer move more in the woods. But I feel sitting in a treestand all day, it is pure luck if the ONE walks by. Not much skill involved, just a lot of patience. I'd rather scout, track and outsmart my prey. Takes a little more I feel. And trust me, I've been outsmarted a few times.

I prefer to walk and stalk deer, but with kids along the sit and wait approach is much simpler. the run them with vehicles idea is what irritates me the most. I want to put a round through a guys windshield when I see that happening
 
Agree. Vehicles are no fun.

It's more of a stalk before season and then walk them out around here then it is a walk unitl you find something and then stalk it. I have trouble blending into flat ground :lol:
