How's calving going?

87% done here on day 29. 4 heifers left out of 80. Finally got our yearlings we bought home from C. Thompson's on Wednesday, got most of them processed before dark and finished up yesterday. Sent a few drys and a dozen late born yearlings/calves to the sale on the backhaul. Going branding at a neighbor's tommorow if the cows left will allow us to.

Got most of our irrigation water on a week ago, 3 weeks earlier than usual ( don't use the word "normal' here) :D Leaves are out on the poplars today, very rarely see them before June 1. Have had a week in the 25 to 28C range.

Have taken a few photos in the last month but too lazy or tired to post them.

Sounds like a couple days of rain in the forecast here, we can use some as it is dryer than it should be.

Off to bed......

:D We must be on the same wave length as I was going to call you last night. I was waiting for a return call from my sister before i called you and waited until 10:30 then gave up and went to bed.
We are about 66% done hfrs in 15 days. We just keep plugging along. Had 9 on Monday while we were in the middle of testing 20 mature bulls. One hfr had a calf with a head back. We had the vet right here so she got her head snare for us to use. She was about ready to give up but I gave it one more try and got the head in place then we snapped a halter shank to the snare and ran the rope over top the gate frame on the mat. pen and her and Britt got on the chains and out it flew.
Dad went for a Dr.s appointmet on Monday and he kept him in to regulate his BP medication so he won't be home until at least Monday. He'd been waiting for this appointment for over a month but it stormed the 2 Mondays in April he was to go. Good thing he got in this time.
We've had some nice days but cold in the mornings. Dry since the snow went and most of it soaked in. Not much for run off. Finally got the leveling shoes installed on cultivator so i get to drag some fields for as few days.
Crawling around under the cultivator reminded me one one of the reasons I dislike farming.
