I`m interested in your thoughts on how JBS.USA management will affect the situation at large. The XL handling of this Ecoli "crisis" would seem to be a case study of how NOT to handle these situations. No one appeared willing to get out in front of it: the Nillson`s went into hiding; the Redford gov`t seemed only interested in getting the plant back into operation as did Ritz & CFIA. I may be wrong here but that`s my perception & many others as well. Statements such as "Alberta beef is safe" don`t make much sense. Of course, Alberta beef is safe. The issue was sanitary conditions in the XL plant & regulations not being followed. It`s a sorry state when USDA inspectors find EColi in beef when it should have been detected before it ever left XL.
Sorry, I`ve digressed here. Interested in what potential impact JBS.USA will have.
Also what happened to the 1.4 million of taxpayer dollars that went into the XL plant last year?
