if Snyder was the pick all along, why fire Prince during the season? Is Snyder just a gap filler for recruiting till a different coach comes in? if so why the 5 year contract? is he there to groom a successor??


I think Bill is a great guy. met him and talked with him a few times. he did what no one else could have done in Manhattan.... but he is not the answer to our situation.

well..... Snyder has his good points, but 69 years old, and he is expected to have another Miracle in Manhattan ???? the program dropped off his last two years. Prince was hired simply for the minority angle. glad to see him gone. But I am thinking thet they are setting up an understudy type deal here....that is the ONLY way I can think this works out well for us.
or it is smoke screen to take away from someone they are after who will not commit until after his bowl game??? PLEASE let this be the case....Patterson???

Clearly BS will be recruiting his replacement from day one. The last couple Snyder years dropped off because all his assistants moved up the coaching ladder, and he was in the middle of a coaching talent cycle. Imagine if BS had coached 8 years and gave Stoops the keys. Hell, Prince may have been ready for the keys after 5 years under Snyder. I think Snyder was sorta pushed out the door by unreasonable fan expectations. I buy "the miracle in Manhattan" but decade of dominance is a myth that sorta got outta hand. When fans want Solich's head because he only won 10 games/year at Nebraska, the fans are destroying the team they support.
 
in the press conference he said he retired to spend time with his family that he neglected for years....then afterword he found out his family thought he should not have retired.....guess he drove them nuts!! :lol:

I think it is 100% about him grooming a replacement, and I think the guy seriously loves KSu and will do anything to keep it headed in the right direction.

I hope they up the assistant pay at KSU, in hopes to keep them around.

jigs, isn't patterson at TCU a Snyder guy, and the guy at South Florida?

My brother in Law is a vet from KSU and those guys stay pretty connected with school - He sez the Snyder deal was done before Prince was dismissed and there was no search
 
a lot more has developed, and is making me more and more content with the re-hire.I think we may be headed in the right direction...yes Patterson has KSU ties, a Kansas native. and Jim Leavitt at south Fla was a KSU guy too.

we got Vic Koennig from Clemson, who was a KSU captain when he played here...i think he is the possible heir to the throne....

one thing for sure, Snyder can develop people. but he has a wicked work ethic, that most can not take.
