Bio diesel

Due to the extreme cost of diesel have been looking into making bio diesel out of used cooking oil.

Has anyone tried this?

Directions on internet seem pretty straight foward. Cost around $1.00 per gallon or less.

Would like any input available.

My biotech engineering students made a batch of it last year. It worked out pretty good. There are several different ways to make the stuff. One of the recipes calls for a conversion on the vehicle. The one we did needs no conversion. Go to http://journeytoforever.org/biodiesel
