The black and white one is a chickadee and the others are redpolls..I think they are related to the finches..they just showed up today..they are a little late..I was about 10 feet away.they are very bold just like the chickadees are.they both will let you get a few feet away from them and then they only move a few feet away again..

Super pics! :D :D :D

We've got our feeder about six feet from the kitchen window, and watch the birds every mealtime. It's the best show in town. So far we've got chickadees, red polls, white breasted nuthatches, and the occasional grosbeak. Four blue jays come and visit from down the road as well. They're hilarious to watch, because they are way too big for the feeder, and have to dangle upside down from it to reach the seeds whenever their flat tray of seeds is empty.

Nice pics Les! :)

I have chickadees here now and the grosbeak's were here a week ago :) ... and of course Whiskey Jacks that make sure I don't forget to give them their bread crusts every morning  :-)
Now I'm waiting for hummingbird season! :D

Whiskey Jacks are Grey Jays.
Sounds like you got more variety of birds there than we have here.
Come closer to spring there will be more here :) . I haven't had any blue jays though :? . They may not come here ?. There are magpies in the area, just a little north but I've seen one fly by here last fall. I was hoping he'd stay. I miss the magpies :( . I've seen plenty of woodpeckers here too.

Whiskey Jacks...WAY TOO friendly of a bird for a girl that learned to fear birds one late night in the 60's watching a movie I wasn't supposed to see....

What are those little birds, maybe sparrow size, with white wings called? Greg calls them snowbirds,is that the right name? Anyways theres been flocks of them around here the last couple days. We don't often see them.
