What bird that comes out at night and makes a sound like a calf bawling?
It is not a cowbird either. :D

Out here the only nighttime birds that come out are: Night Hawks (love their sound, not sure if they sound like a calf bawling), owls, and BATS. I guess I don't make the nighttime bird sound finals, but, oh well, I tried :D 8) :D :D

My guess would be a mocking bird. They do sing at night sometimes. We do not have them here, so I don't know if they could mimick a calf's bawl or not. I would suspect that they might.

We have mosquito hawks here that when they dive sound something like a cow in the distance. Only seem to hear them in the evening for some reason. When I was a kid I thought they were a big truck jakin' down a steep hill off in the distance.

We have Bull Bats down here but they sound more like a Bull Bawling for a fight, They swoop down on each other and when they connect they Bawl
They are actually a bird that comes out to feed on insects in the evening or morning
Here is the definition from the Texas Country Reporter
Bull Bat - An insect eating bird seen in the late evening. Also known as a nighthawk. "In the summer we see a lot of bullbats around here."
