Bridger-Teton Wyoming range coffin peak, wind monitor, Dec17, 2025, had a recorded wind gust of 144MPH.
remember to check under your house this morning for a squashed witch. Take the plug out of your shotguns and remember to flock shoot the flying monkeys. BE SAFE OUT THERE!

Seems like it is airy everywhere. A friend in Baker had two pivots twisted up and lost part of a hay barn. Luckily it wasn't bad here, we are building a shop and they had 2 walls up, and they stayed up.

Good advice from Auntie Em and Uncle Henry 🙂

We are sitting in a hole where the wind has trouble getting into. But I was watching the clouds sail by. They were really moving. I hear real high numbers out of the Columbia Gorge but was unable to verify them
We live in the bottom of a coulee and some said to mom once that we must be protected down here, She said "The wind just picks up speed coming down the hills"

Calm here this morning with 30 MPH breeze and 50 MPH gust. Lots of rain last night. Leaving the hospital, last afternoon, we were hit with 80 MPH gust. It was a struggle going 10 feet to the patient loading area. The howl of the wind around those building, was scary.

As our vehicle was being rocked by side gust, I saw the Nativity scene in front of a church going airborne. I suppose the sermon this coming Sunday will be "Finding Jesus. "

No one was amused when I inquired if they knew the words to, "I'll Fly Away."

It was good to get out of the city a be headed home over Horse Heavens. Some light hydroplaning and vehicle rocking didn't phase us a bit, since we got out of all but medium winds within a few miles. It was sure good to get around those semis with swinging trailers.

Nothing like getting home and getting the Tin Pony in the barn. I like tin ponies because of no problem putting them in their stable wet.

Our driver said winds hitting 98 were reported near Hood River. A medical center in the Dalles, was damaged and lots of debris in the parking lot.
