Black Cattlemen

Welcome to the "RANCH.
I don't think anybody has made the distinction of what race anybody is on this board we are all just interested in the cattle business. Doesn't seem to matter where your from we all have cows in common.

Same here. It might matter to some what color your cows are.

I must have read it differently. I thought he/she meant that they raise black cattle.

Don't know why anyone would differentiate cattle owners by race?

One of the smartest cattlemen i've ever known, was a black man and a damned good one. His name was Sam Hogan, I learned more form him about feeding cattle, than any University could ever teach, or know.

Best Regards
Ben Roberts

You might enjoy Ranch Talk a little more than Bull Session. I just pop in here once in awhile, it helps me appreciate Ranch Talk a little more. Listening to one closed minded jerk trying to change the mind of another closed minded jerk gets a little tiring after awhile. Welcome aboard. What kind of cattle do you like?

Welcome young man :) Colour here isn't an issue...well unless your talking cattle. Like Angus 327 said, really you want to stay out of Bull, its aptly named :? Ranchtalk, way more sence talked in that room...for sure

Welcome Georgia Cattleman, while I am from Zimbabwe in Africa, I am 'Mukiwa' not "Abantu' my cattle breed are also from my home country.
Enjoy the forum,I will be looking foreward to your posts.

Don't be scared of Bull Session like Angus327 is Georgia Cowman. If you can't take a little criticism and judge those who can as closed minded jerks; maybe you will need to hide out on the ranch talk site with Angus327.

Race has nothing to do with respect bud, I have friends and colleges with yellow and even that American favorite "olive colored skin". If you have an opinion on a subject - post it. And yes be ready for anything here on the best damn cattle industry site on the Internet.

Unlike Randy...I do not think a 16 year old will learn anything really positive to take him through life as a cattleman in Bull, not like Ranch Talk will :!:

"rkaiser" is that German for R-Calfer? Now what makes you think I was refering to you. I always read your posts and have visited your website and studied your online catalog. I am even convinced that a little Gallaway or Welsh Black injected into my herd of straight black Angus cows that have paid the bills here for over 30 years could not hurt I just wouldn't buy one from you. If you call the "discussions'' on Bull being able to take criticism you are plain wrong.

I'm sorry if I offended you Mr. Angus327. I hope you find a good Galloway Bull. If you have read any of my posts you would know where I stand on the Rcalf thing. By the way - I am a Polish Scotsman. Name doesn't really mean much bud. What's your name? I had a lot of good Angus but I never had a 327 - always wanted one. My 350 American block in my 1973 Firebird was about all I could handle.

No offense taken. I know where you stand on R-calf. Just having a little fun. 327 stands for the number of cows I had when I first joined Ranchers. [/quote]

Make sure that the Galloway bull you buy meets the standards set out in our Celtic Beef Organization structure Angus357, and we will hand you a nice cheque if you finish those calves in our natural protocol way. I could not sell you a bull if you wanted one, I sell only one day a year and that day has passed. But would surely help you get one from the many breeders that I help sell bulls for after my sale.

As far as the criticism thing. How would you like to wake up first thing Sunday morning to have someone swear at you by associating you with Rcalf. I have tough skin Angus357, just like my cows, and just like Sandhusker, Scotty, and all the rest of the boys and girls here on Ranchers Bull Session. If and when you read between the entertainment like name calling etc. you can learn from each and every one of the folks on this site. I am not quite sure what attracted this group, but it has definitely come to be, as I have said before, the best damn cattle industry cattle site on the web. I will not say that even a 16 year old can not learn on here Ms. Greg. We have all acted like children with less age than that. But like a sixteen year old, we all need to keep learning, and believe me there is a lot to be learned in this industry. Agman is learning - even though he thinks he knows everything. Oldtimer is learning - even though he is 106 years old. S - leepy H - ead is learning about how two multinational packers control the border and his beloved Rcalf has never had anything to do with it. Call this group what you like Angus327 - if you come here often enough with an open mind - you too will learn.

Once again - welcome to our new Black friend and even if you are sixteen, teach us something please.
