i guess that would depend on how many whitetails you have. could have been something wrong with that doe for the cat to get it done....hard to say. as many whitetails as i have, i would love for that bobcat to come visit my place :wink:
Tonight just after Grandma got home- I was perusing the computer- and the dogs in the house went nuts.....I asked Grandma if anyone was here (thinking hunters)- and she looked out and just on the sidewalk below the living room picture window (4 yards away) was a big Canuck brand Lynx....All I got to see was it heading for the haystack- but Grandma knows the difference in those cats.... I haven't seen a Lynx in a few years....
Might be what upset the 8 year old grandson the other night when he and his buddy were sleeping in the horse trailer- and said they heard a scream-- then heard something growling at the dogs....
Hang a prairie chicken wing from a fence wire and set a trap under it-lynx will not pull out of a trap you can catch in a number one by a toenail and they'll be there in the morning. People were going to have to chose here you can bench about the deer in the stackyard or the preds in the coulee but not both lol.
Bobcats are as thick as the coyotes over here. Ive seen both of them eating on a calf or fawn carcass. I let them get their fill, then kill everyone of them i see. 8) :twisted:

Killed a lot of bear and deer with my old 25-06 and more than a few coyotes and wolves - head shot a spike bull moose a couple years ago at about 8 yards with it as well - he tasted real good - I have also sat and watched a lot of animals - then let them go.
Had more than one Lynx walk up to within a few feet of me and sit there staring at me - once I woke up to one sitting on the other end of the log I was sleeping on in late November in the Canoe Lake area of northern Alberta.
In the wild every animal has to eat - or be eaten

Bait deer to shoot
Feed the predators at the same time
Seems to me the four legged predator has as much right to kill deer as the two legged predator. Makes the herd stronger.
I don't poison gophers so the yotes eat them instead of calves-I let any kid who wants to shoot some have at it-it's nice to have a bunch of teenage kids watching out for your place.
