Trying to do what Soapweed does. (need more practice) :P

Water tank on pipeline. Something happened to the float, so
it had to be repaired.

I thought the Mytty In Focus bulls looked good coming out
of breeding season. They did a good job.

Just some of our country. It's greened after I took this picture--(it started raining again)

The weed almost looks like one of the milkweeds after the pod has broken away.. Not sure as there are many varieties-- but the seed and the the stem look like one...

Of the growthier- bigger, better, faster bulls I sure like the In Focus's the best....My son AIed the In Focus daughter he bought to OCC Magnitude this spring- and I'm anxious to see what that cross will do...

We had another thunderstorm go thru this morning- and while it didn't drop much rain (.05)- it was enough to stop harvesting for awhile...

Nice pictures, Faster Horses. The bulls look like they are built right, and they survived the season in fine shape. You live in wonderful cattle country. Sorry, but I can't help you with the weed. Keep clickin' that camera.

Well shoot, OT, I didn't realize In Focus was a bigger, better, faster
sire! :???: :? Well, we are selling the bred heifers anyhow and that's why we bought these bulls, so they would have highly recognized genetics.

And you think that might be some kind of milkweed? Thanks. I'll
look it up.

Thanks, Soap. We have some bad ground just like most everyone else;
I just didn't take a picture of it!

And we use the grainerys for storing things...not for wheat. :P

Oh they are recognizable- seem to sell good- and some of the In Focus bulls and heifers were some of the nicer higher performance angus I saw sell this spring....

But at a 6 Frame with a 54 WW- and 100YW- along with a +24 Milk- +64 MW and +.6 MH--- he's a little more "performance" than I want for raising heifers--altho for frame size, I've heard he will breed pretty true to the cow- and if used on moderate frame cows will produce moderate frame heifers/cows...
And from the very limited experience I've had with them they seem to be fairly easy keepers altho he has negative EN EPD....I helped a neighbor calve heifers bred to In Focus- and he definitely is an easy calver..

Tell us about your fast horses---Pictures pl;ease !! Thanks-- :)

Ilike your pictures, I especially like pictures with clouds.

I think the weed is goatsbeard. I has a dandelion type of seed head only it is courser and heavier. When the stems or leaves are broken it bleeds a milky sticky juice. It is lkely milkweed may be one of it's common names. I believe it is a perennual or a biannual.

The plant is Salsify, or atleast that is what the Nebraska plant list calls it. Its a relative of the milk weed family.

Great picture, just a suggestion, next time put more sky and less land. Never center the subject in the middle as it looks like the page will fold. So just had 1/3 ground and 2/3rds sky.

can someone tell me what this plant/ flower is?

I looked it up in the wild flower book and its not there, so im guessing its not a wild flower. haha

the only place i have found it was along side the railroad track, in only one place.

It is a nasty plant, as it has little prickles that stick into you skin and itch. and are hard to get out because you can hardly see them.

it has a beautiful flower but not so nice foliage.

I have no idea Canadian cowgirl. An interesting plant. You have to start somewhere if you want to identify it. The leaves and the flower arrangement interests me. From the pictures it is hard to say. Looking at the leaves, I would start with the Mimosas. these are the sensitivity plants. Do the leaves fold when you touch them? The flowers are different, but they do have long antlers. I am only familiar with two plants from this family, and only slightly so, as they do not grow in my area. These are the Illinois bundleflower and the cats claw sensitivity briar. If it is found in one area and one place it most likely spreads fron underground root stock.

thanks clarencen,

I do not think its sensitivy plant, as i had one in florida and the leaves were smoothish, these are spikey and hurt. so i havent touched them to see if they fold.

thanks

The plant is called blueweed or Viper's bugloss or blue devil. It can cause a rash.
