Boy! Did I screw UP!

sw keeps a small record book in his shirt pocket during calving, in turn, usually after the days tagging, puts the information from his pocket record book into the large one we keep on the counter w/tags, taggers, bander, bands, etc etc.

He is very good about cleaning out his pockets.

Last year he lost his book out on the calving pasture, which comprised of several sections. We had to go over our tracks from that day, luckily we found it.....

Would have lost several days' worth of calving data if we never found it

I feel for ya Jassy, from now on make him clean out his own pockets, then he is responsible. My mom used to go through pockets, but when my time came up I said, "WHOA", you guys can clean out your own pockets (if you want your laundry done  )

I really did it this time...(again)... :o I washed my Hubby's little book with all his important stuff in it! Ya know gals...the one that they carry with em everywhere, and it has phone numbers, tractor part numbers, cow numbers, tire sizes, feed info...etc.! It ended up in little tiny shreds of paper in my washin machine...at first I didn't know what it was, till the pen fell out..."OOOPS! this isn't good" When I told him what I had done, yes he was mad, but then it was sortof /partly his fault for not taking it out of his pocket...I usually don't have to check pockets of shirts in the basket...but he forgave me...and all is good now.. Course threatning him that he can do his own damn laundry from now on..could of had somthing to do with him lettin me off the hook!..

Awwww :cry2: :cry2: :cry2: :pretty:

There's nothin wrong with doin mens' laundry...if they'd just learn to empty their pockets...turn their socks and t-shirts right side out before they go in the hamper........I don't know how many bullets I've washed over the years.....but that first .22 shell I vaccuumed up...THAT one he heard about right away!!!!!!!

"Housewife shot by a Kirby Vaccuum Cleaner" what a headline. :?

we have 3 hampers....whites, jeans, and colored. makes it easier to dump in a load...no dang sorting!!!

You know, I just assume that I will be doing the laundry myself. Habit I got into in college and one that has stuck with me for the most part... My wife will do it for me and does help me keep caught up but mostly what she does is get my stuff into the dryer for me and than out of the dryer when her or the kids stuff needs to get washed/dried... Never thought it was much of a deal to do the laundry but I won't do hers, might screw it up.

Yeah it is interesting, but would not fly at my house. I know Mr Lilly too well. He's got ten million other things on his mind besides his laundry....and if left to him to wash his own.....the man would be nekid!!!!!

They way I see it with my wife is that the kids can really take it out of her in a day and it is the least I can do to 1) take a little buddy with me when I go to town or check calves to give her a short break 2)Due my own stinky, covered in cow crap laundry and 3) Cook diner or at the very least help cook.. I have a lot of stuff on my mind too but I am not going out in a January snow storm naked and I really get tired of clothes that smell like cowcrap or worse. I grew up in a famly where my Dad couldn't do any of that stuff but now even that old dog has learned some new tricks since he started spending so much time out of the country with his job.

Laundry? What a big job!

I have to haul the stuff to the washing machine and then I have to PUT it in the washing machine? Oh man! I justy don't know if I can handle that!

Then I have to put soap in? And turn them little knobs and trun it on? Man, oh man, oh man! This is just soooo confusing!

I've been doin' my own for years. i got tired of my boys ending up with way to many oif my clothes.

Once in awhile the mrs. takes it out and puts it in the dryer. Usually I do it all. Even hanging them on the line, when the weather is good.

I've even been caught, folding towels!

Psssst guys! If the little woman isn't tired, she's usually more romantic. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink.

There are more helpless men out there, who have been babied all their lives. Can't cook, can't clean. What are they going to do when their wife is sick or, heavien forbid, gone?

My wife can do much of the work on this ranch. I can too. We have a partnership.

She does what she is best at and I do the other. And try and help her out once in awhile, just like she tries to help me. Seems to have worked pretty good for 28 years, as of the end of this month.

Of course, she did most of it until she started working off the place and I had to learn to survive. It really ain't that big a deal. :)

that's what we finally did in our house, too....except we have a 4th hamper ..... for towels!!!

LOL ya'll....it ain't a big deal to do laundry...your right. But it's not a big deal for me to do it either. He helps me cook. Alot of the time he'll cook the whole meal. But with him havin a regular off the ranch job that he HAS to wear nice clothes to, LOL I hafta make sure he has them to wear. Basically he goes thru two sets of clothes per day. One to the day job, then home at 1:30 changin into work clothes. That's lots of clothes!!!!
All started back when he worked oil field...now thems some nasty clothes...I'll take cow poopy clothes over oil field grease ANY DAY!!!!! But back then when we were first married and his work clothes were so nasty. He had no clue how to get em clean. You can't just throw em in with a lil soap and expect anything to happen. They'll come out just as greasy and nasty as they went in. Every pair of pants and every shirt had to be totally sprayed down with Spray n Wash or some other type of degreaser......Yes I've even used the degreaser that you buy to spray on your car engine, to spray on his laundry.

I have some pants and shirts that have some real clean dirty spots.

I don't like dirty stinky. Stained is another matter, for work clothes.

I have quite a few white work shirts with blood stains from brandings and me forgetting to wash them in cold water. :D

Oh well, when people see stained clothes, at least they know you did some work at one time.

I washed an entire load with liquid fabric softner last night thinking it was detergent.....man they sure smelled good......i guess they got clean i dunno.

I hate bleach....I used it once and not only destroyed the load (Did you know it is for WHITES only?) but I also destroyed the shirt and pants I had on. Didn't realize it till like an hour later and looked at my clothes i was wearing and they had bleached spots all over em. ARRRRGH
The load was of white undies and socks....but the undies had blue on em to and well now the blue is sorta a rust color....along with the undies. O'well I guess that will just help keep me from running around in public in my undies now

Oh yeah and bleach will make you plumb goofy to....powerfull stuff!
