We actually had a half inch of rain about an hour before we rode this AM. That is a half inch where we branded, and nothing here at all. Water was running in the hardpans, and life was good. Sandy country is nice, as it dried up in a hurry where we had set up the pens.

Coming in to the portable panels.

Another of the drive in. Indian battlefield in the buttes in background. Nothing but grass and sky.

Nice pictures, Tap. You are lucky you got some rain this morning. It was beautiful early here, no wind and cloudy, with rain going on to the north of us. We were horseback, juggling some cattle onto fresh grass. As the day progressed, it rained all around us, but alas, not here. We did get a high wind this afternoon, for whatever that is worth.

Glad your branding went well. Looks like a great crew on hand to help you with the work.

Thanks for the pictures, Tap. Sure fun to see green grass for a change,
isn't it?

I like the bay horse with the bald in his face in the second picture.
I like the 'mood' of the picture, too.

I very much like the picture of the cowgirl too. But not for the
same reasons the guys do...that's a pretty awesome picture with
her hair flying like that...terrific shot you got there.

That's you putting the calf down? Shoot, you're just a kid!!!

Glad you had a good day with good help. Calves look super, what
I could see of 'em.

Thanks guys.

It was a fun day, but branding at someone else's ranch is more fun. Not as much thinking to do. lol.

I have been accused of being long and lean a few times in my life. :-)

Even with the grass being what it is, we still need a good rain to make some hay. It is going to be slim pickings in the hay dept. this year I think. It didn't get rain at the time in needed it most. And we have been real warm lately.

We have a neighbor that is going to brand in the morning. He told me that when I was 25, I wouldn't have to wrassle calves at his place, then the same at 30, 35, ......

It just depends on what the help looks like when I get there for him to decide what I do. I am sure he quit wrestling calves when he was younger than I am, but, oh well.

Oh heck, Tap
Just tell us if that Cowgirl is single or not!!!!

You guys are terrible. :o

She is the daughter of a friend of mine. And I believe she is spoken for. So if you want to try and change her mind, you better get up here soon. She is a very nice gal, and a good roper and hand. With her dad's influence, she didn't have many other options. He is the guy in picture 2.

Oh, and her mother roped all day too, and that was after getting bucked off about 5 min. after we started dragging calves. They grow 'em tough around here. I might not have gotten back up from the fall she took. :-)

Really nice pictures, number two pic is a wow!! The young lady looks like the same young lady in Soapweeds branding pictures???

Tap I have been biting my tongue all day but somebody has to say it, so I will. Buffalo gals won't you come out tonight.... come out tonight... you get the picture. :D Sorry but I couldn't resist. I'm glad you got some rain out of that storm, it went south of us.

have a good one
