We actually had a half inch of rain about an hour before we rode this AM. That is a half inch where we branded, and nothing here at all. Water was running in the hardpans, and life was good. Sandy country is nice, as it dried up in a hurry where we had set up the pens.
Coming in to the portable panels.
Another of the drive in. Indian battlefield in the buttes in background. Nothing but grass and sky.
A few of the calves before branding started.
That girl is a Cowboy.
A friends and neighbors. The guy in the hat is a brother to World Champion Saddle Bronc rider Clint Johnson.
Nice little horse, and good roper.
And, I can still throw one when I have to.
