Later in the day, Katrina (of Ranchers.net fame  ) brought by a nice young lady who is competing for South Dakota Rodeo Queen. Genna Buettner will be participating in competition at the Belle Fourche Rodeo over the 4th of July. For the horsemanship part of the competition, she will need to ride two ranch horses that she has never seen before, on saddles she has never ridden in before. Katrina had called a few days ago to see if it would be alright for Genna to ride our ranch horses. We felt honored that they thought our horses worthy of practicing on. Genna is a fine young lady who would do a great job in representing South Dakota. We wish her well.

Good pics Soap, glad to see you're getting moisture. Things must be looking up, Peach got herself a new hat! :D

Old tightwad must have finally paid her and let her go to town... :P
Good looking straw hat.....

WOOO HOOOOO--green grass and black cattle. Doesn't get much better!!

Those were interesting pictures, Soapweed. Genna sits a horse really well.
I particularly like the picture of Peach getting a drink; but I enjoyed all
the photos. Neat that you got a shot of everyone together.

I'm glad you keep posting photos to share with us.

Oh, has Brock decided to sell his sorrell yet? Be sure to let me know if
he has. He might need some $$$$ soon, I'm thinking. :P

HI KATRINA!!!

What??? You found Katrina? Was she sober and well behaved? :D

We just have one bunch of late calvers left to brand as well...am thinking the corrals might dry out in time to get them worked about the time they're ready to wean. :???:

This year we had a Cow Country calf table worked over, so it's hydraulic. Now the women and senior citizen  that work up front can really go through the calves without tiring themselves out, hardly at all. Those of us that get stuck pushing calves aren't as lucky....just suckers for punishment.
