Brands

C hanging C right hip.

That is the brand I allways wanted, and they wouldn't let me have it. An old neighbour (now long passed on) had it as his horse brand on the jaw, and I allways thought it looked great.

I settled for -x- on the hip. Someday I'm going to try again to get it on the rib as I think it would be a better fit there.

I use a milliron with another milliron standing below it on the right hip. I have several combinations of milliron brands..sure nice to have one that you can put on with just one iron.

Where I used to live years ago a guy had a 5 milliron brand. It looked liked the cattle were priced at 5 cents. Everyone used to comment and later in life the guy got a new brand.

Probably a silly question, but what is a milliron?

A milliron looks like this--kind of like a hat with no head in it.

Our neighbor has the brand "Milliron Diamond," which I always thought was a very nice brand.

Thankyou Soapweed, I appreciate that.

Soap did a much better job than I was going to do...

My description was if you took a metal bar and smacked it over a Texans head- the resulting shape of the metal bar would be a mill iron

Hey Now,no fair ganging up on your ole friend Hay
Maker, besides hard headed Texans is only a myth :D
good luck

We have various brands for different cattle. Our cows are branded on the left side with a horizontal Y X (the letters are connected by a bar from the top right side of the Y, attached to the top left side of the X).

Left side brands work best for us, so that's what most of ours are.

Rockin TP...

THe wife loved it as it was the first letters of our names and she was first...

After it was registered and on our first cows I told her, "We should get cards that say, " If this TP's rockin, don't bother knockin""
