BSE Bickering is running rampant - Deal with it!!!

Let me write this in plain English just one last time and for the record, I have had it up to the top of the ying-yang with guys like TimH.

I own a test that can identify the presence of TSE's in animals and humans and do it quickly and not as a post mortem test but a live test. It has to date, cost approximately two million dollars to develop to a point where it is now ready to validate on all types of known TSE diseases. Yes, we intend to validate it and once approved we intend to sell it. Yes we intend to make profits and yes we intend to pay ourselves back for all the development costs. Yes we will spend that recovered development money as we damn well feel like spending it.

Once we have done that, we shall then direct all future profits into scholarships for the continued research of Prion Diseases in the form of Post-Doctoral Prion Research Grants and Scholarships, continued laboratory enhancements to provide for research and development of advanced prion disease detection techniques, additional grants, donations, assistance in any way possible to what the hell we feel is necessary to bring about the eradication of prion disease in both animals and humans. Hell, we are even providing a grant to the Cleveland lab that is going to conduct the validations for us - while they are doing them, not to mention the almost $980,000.00 cost of each validation they conduct for us. That is almost one million bucks to validate each and every known TSE. That figure doesn't include the supplimental costs involved which include travel, sample acquisition, additionals costs in the form of paying for addisitional lab time when necessary. The list of costs involved in unreal and seemingly never-ending.

So, when shortsighted and extremely ingorant people like TimH find it necessary to make stupid statements regarding how I or my company is going to make nothing but profits and suggests that profit mongering - as he has in the past - is the only reason I am involved in this project, all I can say to people like that -get over it and open your other eye!!! I suppose that each time he goes into town to purchase another bag of feed for his cattle, he argues against having to pay the distributor markup because he has this thing about companies not only making a profit but how they chose to spend it also????

It's pretty easy to get ticked these days and I can see a bit of where Tim is coming from, however there are advantages to us as producers in BSE testing methods as well.

We had a great meeting in Camrose last night Ron and had a resolution on testing for market access passes with flying colors. I may have to take the same speel down to Fort Macleod, our CCA presidents home turf, on Monday evening and have it passed right in front of his pig headed nose.

When we get this stuff moving ahead we will have to use the tests that are in place now, but how much more efficient would it be if we had a live test Tim?

Gee Randy you guys out west are a little behind. The SSGA passed that resolution in 2004 at our AGM in Swift Current.

It was pointed out to me yesterday that the Elk breeders test all animals and they haven't gained any market access. :???:

Who is conducting the testing for the Elk Breeders and which test are they using to do it??? Hopefully you were told this also.

Not to be a smart ash Big Muddy, but we both know who runs CCA and it ain't SSGA. These ABP boys have had a policy against testing from day one. Maybe you could remind them and the CCA about your resolution old buddy.
