Howdy Folks,
I'm curious where everyone goes to find a good used trailer when they're shopping around. I've tried kijiji, auto trader, horse clicks and a few other websites. I want to find a 12-16 foot bumper pull trailer. Steel or aluminum doesn't matter, but has to have heavier axles, not the 3500lb ones.

I've seen trailers with 5200lb, 6000lb and 7000lb axles. I've always liked Southland and Norbert because they're built damn good and heavy, but when I was brand inspecting I saw alot of guys going to aluminums and really liking them.

Any thoughts or sites to search out? And Denny, if you weren't so darn far away I'd place an order.

Straw FH, lots and lots and lots of straw.

Had to haul pigs and bulls to the butcher shop one day last fall. Had 4 pigs in the little front compartment of a 16' Southland, and 3 1200lb bulls in the back. The bulls sniffed and sniffed at the door, but they finally hopped in. They're pretty familiar with pigs because they're always in sight of each other or alongside each other, in winter or in summer.

Take a look at Kramers in Battleford. We bought a used Norbert 16' gooseneck there and the service was great and the price was good.
If you are taking a trailer where we do, the steel is better than aluminum and 16' is plenty.

Looked on there before, just checked again, not much to be found that isn't showing it's age.

My son had bought a older gooseneck at a farm auction for $1,000. It looked at little rough but had been fixed up so was serviceable and safe. He sold it for $2,000 and bought a older Norbert for $3,000. They were both in not bad shape for the age but the Norbert is taller and it's a Norbert. :D

We have a nice 2004 TrailMann 16' bumper pull stock trailer that could be for sale. TrailMann was a top-of-the-line maker at the time, but has since been bought out by Titan. The trailer was custom-made to my specifications, and is white with black trim. We've pulled it a lot of miles, but have tried to take good care of it. It is 6'8" wide and 6'6" tall. The floor is 2"x6" tongue-and-groove "rumber" (made from recycled rubber products). Both the center gate and the back gate have sliding doors, and there is an escape door on the left side. This TrailMann is a well-made steel trailer, with 7000 pound axles, and 16" tires which still have at least 50% tread. It is priced at $4000, but you are eligible for the special Ranchers.net discount, which would bring the price down to $3500.

This picture was how it looked in 2008. As with anything, time has not made it look newer.

If we get the snowstorm they've forecasted for tonight, I might as well come south for another little holiday. Spent 10 days in southern BC last week, just to come back to this barren tundra. Wouldn't hurt my feelings to leave again.
