Being its Dec. 1969--we have no NAFTA-- we have no trade war...We had no Mad Cows running around except for those ones that were running in the 50,000-75,000 acre pastures that were still around back then- and only saw a man/horse once or twice a year....
The only time I even thought of Alberta was when I was thinking if the Red Deer or Edmonton rodeo would fit into our travels...

The only times I even got slowed up at the border was when immigration guy thought I had bought the bronc saddle in Canada- and thought I should pay a duty....But after examining the number of spur tracks across the top of it decided it couldn't be new.....Or the time the one at the border between Canada and New York found the hypo needles I packed with me to give myself allergy shots...But even that only took a minutes explaining...

This site is acting really whacky today.

When I make a post....I get a warning from the site.....then by magic it shows up. :???: :???:

Spooky.........

It being 1969, all us liberals are zoned out, wearing peace beads, and protesting Vietnam
I was at a 'Love In" at Riley Park in Calgary the summer of 69,thing is I was 10 yrs old and attending a friends B'day party,I thought them Hippies were Kooky and dressed crazy..LOL....

I was 15. The Cubs blew an insurmountable lead in Sept and lost to the Mets. I finally got up enough nerve to ask Debbie Hauser to a movie and she laughed at me. Both left indelible scars that still haunt me 40 years later. Why did it have to be 1969?

I was eight as well and don't have any bad memories of 69. I have a memory of a moon walk years before Micheal Jackson coined the phrase.

I was floating in a sea of amniotic fluid blissfully unaware of the problems of the world. Although my memories of this time are hazy at best

Dec 31, 1969 I was 3 years old, and prolly since Mama got my Daddy a 1969 Chevrolet Truck for Christmas......and it was canary yellow.....oh how I loved that truck. I was prolly still outside droolin over that truck!!!!!

13 years later that truck was handed down to me on my 16th birthday. (Actually a few months before...when I started practicin parallel parkin...and lots of waxin it, and of course a brand new pioneer stereo with a cassette player)

I was eight as well, I remember the winter of 68-69 was extremely cold.

Down here too...I remember at college there were few cars that would even start for a couple of months--and we closed off the wind blowing thru the cracks around the windows of the dorm by sticking damp towels around the window casing- and allowing them to freeze there....
