Typical tree around southern Ontario this weekend.
This is what the ground looks like under the trees when the ice started falling off about mid-afternoon. Made lotsa noise all around the house as it fell.
Many Lilacs bushes are demolished.
Foot long icicles hanging from a framework attached to a hay wagon.

This is what leads to a winter of twine removal nightmares at chore time. :shock: Around here we can't count on a warm day to melt that ice until maybe April.
How did you fare during the storm, burnt? Did you keep your power on? My cousins in London haven't complained on facebook, but maybe they don't have power to go on the internet... gee....

Our power stayed on throughout but we were the fortunate ones - many around us are still out. Not a good thing this time of year. Lent our generator out to the BIL. Lost internet connection Sunday morning until Monday morning.
The damage to the trees is pretty bad. This is the third wallop that they got this year - 2 ice storms and one violent thunderstorm that just shredded them. Not good at all. Getting tired of the cleanup but our daughter did a lot of it yesterday.
Kato, we're lucky that most of our hay is under a roof or wrapped, just a few outside but it sure does make feeding take longer when fighting with ice on the bales. And the cows sure move slow and cautiously when they are breaking through that nasty crust of ice over the snow.
And lots of fence to repair again where falling limbs took it down. :roll: Lucky the cows are not all that much into exploration this time of year. Best way to keep them home and happy is an extra bale of hay.
