The cash cows that I was being paid to feed left yesterday got to get that field disked and dragged before this afternoon rain showers. Got the dry farm planted to grass and alfalfa , made a big mix with Forager and Ranger alfalfa, orchard grass, timothy, rye grass, little intermediate wheat grass, fescue., brome (not smooth) oh and some red and white clover too. Suppose to showers thru Friday night.
Branding crew coming Saturday, Only got 12 ewes left to lamb and shear half of those yearlings, and got some rams to undress too. Then miles of fence to fix and probably start herding water with a shovel. The spring elephant has almost been ate one bite at a time, there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Haying starts after the 4th of July here.....
