At the rate those babies are growing, they'll be making the tag look small in no time. I like BIG tags too Ned Jr.. Nice healthy calves!

I guess I get so use to them I don't even notice they're big tags anymore. They do seem to grow into them and those tags will stay with them for life, or at least until they get them caught on something.
Hay Feeder said:I guess you are right to see the tags from a distance. I am still using calf Z tags the tag hole also grow with the calf. We try to keep the same tag on the calf to adult actually allflex is ok for me. All of the farm stores here carry Duflex tags its hard to find anything else unless one orders it.
I have a problem getting the Z tag into soft eared new born. When the new born are wet the tag Z freeze rots out the ear making calves look horrible.WyomingRancher said:Hay Feeder said:I guess you are right to see the tags from a distance. Isn't that the truth . I like them since I don't have to mess around with backings, but they do have their drawbacks. A few years ago, my Z tags seemed to be eroding the ears. Not around the hole, but on the underside of the ear. My friend had the same issue. Haven't had it happen since.
