Talk about strange prices:
A friend some bull calves to the stockyard. Two of them were identical they had the same sire and mothers were full sisters. I could not tell the two calves apart. They even had the same white spot in the side of the nose.
One weighed 517 pounds and the other went 522 pounds. One sold for $143 per hwt and the other went for $73 per hwt.
Why such a big price spread?
Now that row of good 'ol boys on buyers row wouldn't be price fixing would they? Same thing happens up here 'bama.

Happens here too ,matter of fact won't sell at my small close to home action anymore cause of it.And the small towns ALWAYS screaming we need to support them.... you can only go so far with that one

Bama, Next time that happens tell the auctioneer you'll just take him home. We do it all the time and pretty soon it don't happen.... If you're going to give something away.. You be the judge of who you are going to give it too. We had a real nice cow calf pair get hurt on the way to town and we ended up no saleing the pair and we gave it to some friends who needed the pair.....
