Thought I'd post a pic of a pen of my calves coming through the auction this fall. Not my heavies, but not bad either. Mostly just content to see the evenness of the calf crop. I didn't get a good video of the heavy pen, but it was a heart warming sight for me.
I guess I mostly wanted to post to show that even cross bred mutts from crossbred bulls can make an even pen.
Well, that and Cattle Today site is down and I'm bored

The yard staff must be pretty good with how quietly they come into the ring and that is a very nice set of calves.
We just sold ours out of the yard this week to a verified program. Weighed when we boostered and will bring them in in about another week, sort and load out.

Thanks, it is nice to have a reasonably uniform set of calves. I don't think it hurts the pricing. I would like to see this pen have a few more steers in it in the future. The fun is in the trying. I was feeling a little down about the weaning weights this year but then remembered I started calving 10 days later this spring, so maybe they weren't any worse.
