And it sounds as if they are scheduled to get another 12 to 18" later this week!!!! Sure glad we aren't ranching in that area.
They will be almost as bad as the winter of '97-'98 (or was it '96-'97?) across north half of SD if that keeps up........
Here in the center of the state, we didn't have the extreme snow amounts and deep, deep drifts of further north. We got a little less snow and some thawing which left us with about a foot and a half of ice. We got by, but it was extremely hard on the help (spouse, two sons plus one hired man and two school age grandsons, at that time).
Lots of insurance claims if they can prove it. Heard that RFID tags will prove losses if the data was entered into a secure database,then a RFID tag found on the dead animal.
