That bull looks exactly like the old Simmental bull Irish Black Knight.

That Simmental blood is OK as long as it doesn't get above 3/8 in my experience.
that bull doesn't have any simmental in him. he's supposed to be out of a registered angus bull
If you believe that then I got a bridge I'll sell ya!

this is what i can tell you...none of my bulls have any simmy in them.
gcreekrch said:I'm still holding to my opinion. Somehow, a touch of Sim blood has been introduced into that cowherd. You can't mistake those markings whether they be on red or black angus x. If I was Justin and knew there was not a chance of neighbor's cattle mixing, I would be in serious discussion with the people my bulls came from.
Does it matter to me? Not one iota, I like good cattle regardless of colour.![]()
Northern Rancher said:Well I think 100% of the people on here would assume the same from the picture. If the Red Angus cow was an IB that's where the colour throwback might have come in-now if he was horned he could be a Traveller 722 lol.
Hereford76 said:so is justin taking pictures with some super powered camera or something? they all come up - upgrade to pro, bandwith exceeded, photobucket
per said:He was so meaty that you exceeded the band with on Photo bucket. At least the pics don't show up today. I like him too but being as I came from a fleckvieh background if he did have a little Sim in him as a commercial guy I wouldn't care. There had to be however some different than Angus genes in the woodpile somewhere.
per said::lol:  Sorry Justin but being as BMR made me laugh out loud a chuckle or two at your expense seemed warranted.  Like you, I would have kept him as well.

Since I have no expertise and not the least bit opinionated all I can do is provide comic relief.

I finally got home where I could actually see the pictures. At "Work" for some reason I can't see anyone's pictures. :???: I like all of them. You look like you have put a lot of work into your place and it sure shows. As far as your breeding program, keep doing it! Hope your bull turns out just like his Momma!
