I switched my cows over to Bovi-Shield this year and had a box of Cattlemaster 4+VL5 left over from last year. It's been in my refrigerator ever since my Pfizer rep delivered it. I had saved it just in case I found a little set of bred cows that I just couldn't live without, but I never had enough grass for any more cows.

I had somebody in mind for it, but he said he couldn't use it until Spring. The expiration date is October 24 and I hate to see it go to waste if somebody can use it. If anybody is going to use some pretty quick and wants a 25 dose box for whatever the shipping is, you're welcome to it. I'll stick it in an insulated shipping box with a couple of ice packs and the receipt for the shipping and you can send me a check when you get it.

PM me if you're interested.

Heck, just buy 25 more cows so you can use up the vaccine efficiently. The cattle market is on the skids, and now would be a wonderful time to buy.

With round bales bringing $80 to $100 each in Texas, this market is gonna have to skid WAY on down for me to want in on it before Spring.

I know of some rolled up corn stalks bringing 35 a bale and some rolled up beans going for 60 to 80 a bale.

Mrs. Greg, some of the $80 hay that I've heard of is only 4x5. I don't know if there are any 5x6 rolls for sale at any price. Too many people think in terms of $/bale and don't have any idea what a bale weighs. Consequently, most people that are bringing hay in are making them smaller and baling all the weeds and junk they can put in one. It wouldn't surprise me if some of these guys buying hay don't have $225 tied up in a ton of junk hay because they bought it by the bale and didn't care what it weighed.

Good coastal bermudagrass hay in south Texas is bringing $130/bale delivered, according to the latest market reports:

Texas is a magnet for hay dealers of all kinds this year. They're hauling junk in from everywhere and just breaking it off in guys that don't have a choice or don't have better sense. Just goes to show how much times have changed, I guess. I remember back in the 80's when some parts of the country were in really bad shape. Some people around me were getting some donations together. I didn't have any hay to spare, so I had to buy a load to ship to the guys that needed some.

That's the way it used to be---we all helped each other in bad times. It appears now that it's every man for himself. Break it off in people just as deep as you can.

Alberta had been in a drought for a couple years but 2002 just about killed anyone with animals to feed.Alberta was also in the middle of the BSE shock. Our country stepped up to the plate and donated thousands and thousands of Hay bales to Alberta.Concerts in Calgary and Edmonton had concerts called Say Hay,to help with the frieght...our Eastern provinces helped Altas. alot :) :-) Greg and I didn't take any bales,we stocked up from previous years. We thought the young guys trying hard to get started needed it WAY more then we did.Its funny people will truly help when they can.Since then although things are way better...our bales have really stayed at a reasonable price. Its sad that some try to get what they can with no regards for there fellow man :(
