OSU laid an egg, Troy Smith really proved the heisman is all hype, and I would give just about anything, to see Boise and Florida square off!

I really hate both Florida and OSU, so who won was of no concern to me, so I was pulling for Florida, to upset the system.....

as a KSU fan, I naturally love an underdog!

The "Southeastern Conference" is sitting on top of the world right now.

#1 Florida and LSU should be #2 with the trouncing they put on ND.

Arkansas let us down over Wis. and Tennessee coughed it up to Penn State.

Then that leaves 11-2 Auburn. They are the only team that beat Florida this year.

Where should they be in the final poll?

They had better rank them as high a they dare, Auburn is about done for. I hear Alabama has a new coach that is going to turn the SEC on it's ear.

Boise is the only undefeated team in the country... Imagine that.. REMidns me of when BYU won the national championship back in the leate 80's I think when they won the Holiday Bowl... Well, they won a share of it.

Go Boise State :D

You're right Nicky. Boise State should be ranked up there pretty high.

But who do they play all year? That's were strength of schedule comes in to play.

The last polls are out and have Ohio State as #2. They should be waaaaaaaaaay down the list after the last night.

The whole college deal is a joke they should break up region's say 8 in the country have regional champions play off until a true champ is crowned. As long as they keep finding corporate sponsers they will have another bowl game.A 6 and 6 record should'nt get you invited into a bowl game no matter how insignificant it is.

Just like pro ball if the Mn Viking's would have went 8 & 8 they would have made the playoff's WHY? they sucked just like the Gophers they sucked also and I think they played some kind of Toilet Bowl game. You Know for the crappy teams.

I really liked seeing the Gophers choke, nothing against Minnesota, but Glen Mason is a former KU coach, and once a Chickenhawk, always a Chickenhawk.... was glad to see him fired!

Boy do I agree with that Denny...I can remember when there were just a few Bowl games- meant something then...Now its just a big corporate farce... Every company in the country wants to sponsor some type of Bowl- every southern city wants one-- Pretty soon your having to send out invitations to Podunk U (because they won one game) to still find a team to play...

Didn't even watch much this year- really haven't been much of a college fan since they broke up all the regions last time...I think a playoff system- spread out over a 4-5 week period for each of the college size divisions would bring back more interest in college ball- and bring those folks the bucks they want so bad......

The SEC and some other Conferences have a playoff system now amongst them selves. The East division winner plays the West division winner here.

The problem is....some conferences aren't as strong overall as others. That's what messed Boise State up. Who do they play?

And don't get me started on Notre Dame. That's a whole in argument itself!

Problem is Mike most of the "mid Major" conferences cant' get SEC or Big 10 or whatever teams to agree to any home and home series. The big guys, if they will even play them, will only play them on their home field. I know Northern Illinois, which is a marginal team at best most years, has been trying to do this with a number of schools in the Big 10.. They finally got Iowa to "kind of" agree but instead of playing in Dekalb the NIU home game will be played at Soldier Field in Chicago and will probably have 80% hawkeye fans in the stands. the only other wy they get it done is to agree to a Home away Home format with the Big school getting two home games. Florida doesn't want to have to go to Boise and maybe loose. Michigan doesn't want to go to Utah and suffer the same fate.... Louisville got all this same crap when they were in CUSA, now they are in the Big East, terrible conference, Look at the Big East's bowl record this year.

16 team Playoff, 11 game season (If you must have a playoff game in your conference than hey, that counts as one of them), use the Bowl sites as neutrel sites for playoff games and go from there... Let the computers and pollsters pick the top 16 teams, only way it is going to work. No automatic conference bids, no Notre Dame excemption. Just go to town... If that doesn't work than just copy what Division I-AA does, it works for them.
