Soapweed. when he was a kid, used to, every time we went to a restaurant, turn his placemat upside down and draw a picture. They were definitely one of a kind, The waitresses used to squabble to see who got them. I wish I had retreived more of them but if anyone might be interested I will try to figure out how to display some I was able to get home with.

I think Soapweed missed his calling. He should have been working for Walt Disney or Warner bros. :D

Who knows we might have had Yosemite Soapweed instead of Sam.

I totally agree, those are great SW.

My dad was quite the artist when he was younger as well, he did alot of pencil and charcoal sketches that were very good. He stopped later on for some reason. :?

Thanks for sharing the drawings, I really like them . :D

I don't know about the rest of ya'll...but I sooooo see a resemblance to Kosmo Kid in these pics...(before his last hair cut and shave)

Do ya'll see it too? hehe

Really good Soapweed. And I agree...ya shoulda never quit. Oh that's right......not many places have paper placemats anymore. Is that the reason you stopped? LOL

Well you can count me among the super impressed. I agree, while Soapweed may be a helluva rancher, sketching may have been his true calling. Bob, I think it's a grand thing that you've save those drawings over all this time.

Thanks, folks, for the positive responses. Keep in mind that I was only fourteen years old when I drew those sketches. The worst of it is that as time passed, I never got any better. :(

Here are a couple others kicking around the house.
