Shoot, with the way she's bred you could do all sorts of things with her.

What do you want to do with the baby? I know you need size, but are you looking for "want to qualify for the AQHA World Show in Halter" size? Are you looking for "need to hold a big steer on the end of the rope out in the pasture" size? Or "want myself a big english or dressage horse" size? Other than how much (and what type of...) size, what else are you looking for? How to breed her depends on what you eventually want to do with the colt. And: What does the mare look like and produce?

Ooooohhhh.... Shanes Bake... you have my attention now... 8) I like him a lot. There's also a paternal brother to him names Shanes Gray Bake that Dudley Pillow also owned. He's by Skips Shane and out of a Leo Goldseeker daughter; his second dam is by Jackie Bee and third dam by Mr Meyers (who was by Go Man Go). I've seen a couple of his babies (granted, they were out of Dudley Pillow's mares), and they were among the prettiest I've seen; one of them grew up to be what is probably one of the five prettiest mares I've ever seen in my life. And he's gray, so if you'd like some color, he'd fit that bill, too. He was standing in Mississippi the last time I heard about him, owned by a gentleman named David Quarles. It's been three or so years since I had contact with him, though, so you might want to look him up through AQHA in case he's been sold.

Sticking with the color thing, there's a buckskin son of Mr Yella Fella that's out of a daughter of Mr Conclusion that stands at Fossil Gate; I saw him as a weanling still on his mother, and the colt was nice, but the mother was awesome. That colt grew up pretty nice, though, and won a lot of money for the Gordon's: the $50,000 maiden at the Reichert, for starters.

And, again with the color, and this time back to the Ima Cool Skip, Sandy Ellis in Wisconsin raised a real knock-out son of Kids Classic Style out of one of her "holy cow she's pretty" daughters of Ima Cool Skip. He should be breeding age by now, and a friend of mine who ranches not too far from us has a three quarter brother to him (KCS out of a daughter of ICS that is probably not as good as Sandy's mare) that is fantastic (and that we picked over the MYFxMr Conclusion mare at the Gordon's as weanlings). I think this colt of Sandy's might be a full brother to Dan Fox's mare that just won the AQHA world in performance halter last year. Not sure where he is, but I'm sure Sandy knows.

If you're wanting to find color, there's plenty of options out there with the Kids Classic Style and Mr Yella Fella sons and grandsons that are around. And you can find the sons and grandsons crossed on several different bloodlines -- Cool Skip, Mr. Conclusion, Mighty Awesome, and more.

Of course, you could always just chuck all the conventional stuff and take a peek at that big red roan horse that is standing at the 6666 (I think his name is Four Roan Fly). I hadn't really thought much of him from his pictures until I started snooping around and saw a video of him about three weeks ago. He looks a lot better in the video than he does in photos, has half a handful of halter points (including a grand, but with 1.5 halter points, it probably wasn't that big of a show), has roping points (in heading, heeling, and tie down), and is certainly big. His sire and dam are off of the Haythorn Ranch, and I don't know what his disposition is like, or (more importantly) what the disposition of his get is like. I've been around a couple of horses with the figure-four brand on them, and they certainly acted the part of a Hancock bred horse; but those are only two of thousands that they have raised, who knows what handling they'd had after leaving the Haythorn place, and some folks really like the attitude of the Hancock bred horses.

Personally, I'd love to have the chance to breed to a really good son or grandson of Playgun (maybe that pretty gray Sixes Sixgun horse that just won best horse at the WRCA world in November, or Real Gun, or Circle Bar Pistol, or Chics Playgun) to a really top-notch halter-bred mare. The outcross will be good for both bloodlines, and the result has the potential to be something really special. Probably won't give the size you seem to be looking for, but it should be a fun experiment for our program. God willing, we'll be able to do it one of these years

Anyway, I could probably go on and on and on, but I'll spare the rest of these good folks more of my "oohing" and "aahing". Hope I was able to give you a useful idea or two
