Can some of you northern guy and gal please close the door. The wind is like 40-50 mph and cold. I thought I seen a polar bear blow by when I was feeding some cows.

My neighbour is in Texas right now where it is snowing, I was talking to him on the phone today. He was laughing, said folks were putting on jackets and everything!

Yep- the real cold hasn't even got down to you yet....20 Below right now at 9:30 PM- on the way to a predicted 25-30 Below low...Wind chill must be close to 40 Below...

I think the problem is perspective OT. Try to convince yourself that -30 is not so bad, maybe even pleasant. Stay out of the wind and that takes the windchill out of it. If all that fails go inside where it is a temperate 70 above. Remember that that air came from Alaska and was colder before we warmed it up on the way by. Merry Christmas it sounds like you have a busy one.

Tonight with a warm bed staring me in the face- it sounds good---but somehow I think it may be hard to keep that perspective tomorrow morning when I'm trying to get everything working right doing chores and feeding....
The nice thing now is the weatherboys are predicting near 20 Above temps for Sunday... :)

One thing we know about this weather it that it will warm up, the question is when?

the other morning Trinity Man called me...said he was thinking of getting some coveralls on, cause it was 50 degrees!!!

I would kill for 50 degrees right now!!

+5F with winds 30 mph and up here. Thought I'd try to get an update from the weather channel and they're showing pictures of people on the beach in Southern California.

That should have made you feel warm and fuzzy all over. :D

I agree with closing the door :) Its 11f here and the wind is blowing 35-40mph and getting worse. :x But on the bright side its not SNOWING :!: Well I guess if you consider the snow thats flying off the ground its snowing

We have frozen water...today of all days...
we hardly ever have that problem, but Murphy's Law is alive and well.

UPDATE Water wasn't frozen, it was another problem,
easier to remedy. Neighbors couldn't make it for dinner, so I have
this beautiful prime rib and only 2 of us to eat it...

Electicity went off at 11 P.M, last night...presents were wrapped by flashlight! was 56 degrees in the house this morning....power finally came on around noon, we spent the afternoon getting water going, and are going to sit down to Xmas dinner shortly....Murphy's Law rules around here on Xmas day it seems..last yr we had 2 feet of snow....

After Christmas Dinner....and 7-8 inches of rain a couple days before that....we spent the afternoon workin some of the meal off by fixin fence where the water and limbs and stuff washed it out. We lost power last night for a while...but weren't home to enjoy it much LOL came home a little before midnight...as we pulled in the drive I was on the phone with the electric company...just on the off chance that they didn't know power was off. Recordin said, they were aware of the outage...and projected time of restoration was 12am. I hung up....and reached for the door handle of the truck...and our lights came back on...perfect timing!!!!

Temp is "moderating" here a little- only was 10 Below this morning- but the wind is still giving us a -30 chill factor...Beautiful sun shiney day elseways....Predicting it could get to 5-7 above...

Looks like the Dakotas, Nebraska and points east are still getting quite a Christmas storm..

House is packed with inlaws, outlaws and other relatives-- all in town for the big wedding this afternoon....Survived the rehearsal last night- altho the Canadian whishkehay tasted quite good.... ;)
