- 35 C, wind, great start to the day, took 2 hrs. to get the air compressor warm enough to turn over. The cattle were not impressed with our performance today.

Once we got to work we were forgiven.
Young stuff, thin cows and some other odds and ends.

The advance guard. Going to feed the main bunch.

There is a thief in nearly every crowd.

Ladies patiently waiting for photographer to get back in the tractor.

gcr, that looks very cool and refreshing!

-14F here as I type, the coldest air yet. Still quite a breeze blowing outside. Almost looks like daylight with the moonlight.

Your bale unroller looks similar to a shop built I have. The guy has made them just about ever since round bales were invented but is now retired.

I'm not using mine to feed with currently since I have a Stur-D double bale carrier. Then I unroll the bales pushing them with the dozer blade on the front of the tractor.

-31C/-28F here this morning, but a wind chill reported in the -45-50 range. Can't get my tractor going. I've had it plugged in, and a magnetic block heater on, and it won't hardly turn over.

May have to borrow the neighbor's to feed today, or just turn the cows into the rest of the bale grazing as is.

Bus driver already called saying she couldn't get her bus started, so it sounds like school's out for today.

Yep, you're covered-up and cold! :D Does the wind ever clear your ground open? That is the only great thing about Wyoming wind, it does open your ground back up after a storm.

Cold is the word of the week. That last pic looks like that cow on the right has a tag on her chest? :???:

That's a brisket tag.

That is how a cow wears her heart on her sleeve.

Those pictures look mighty cold, gcreek. We are not far behind you even down here in the tropics. It's 22 below zero here at the moment.

Looks like the forcaster was right about colder, it's -42 here this morning.
That is three coats cold!

That is just tooooo cold for me. I would not be able to feed cows in that weather.
It is supose to be 72 here today.

EXTREMELY foggy here right now and misty rain.

We're to hit the 70's+ by Tues/Wed and on into the wknd.

I'm guessing that would be something like a Three Dog Night?

Oh man, that oughta tweak a memory or two for some of you old rockers!!!

After 4 straight weeks of cold (down to -15C), windy and snowy weather, we finally had a thaw and the temps went up to +8C last night with rain only to drop to -7 right now. Sheets of ice everywhere.

Lots of corn came off over the weekend but still lots to go. Guys are wrecking their combines with ice and snow buildup in front of the shoe hammering the cleaning fans out.

Just not worth it.

It only got to a balmy -16 today, so we set a new record for the coldest high temp breaking the old record set in 1897... Its down to -21 now, so there is a good chance we could break the coldest low record for the 16th, -29, previously set in 1914... Global Warming ?

RECORD LOW TEMPERATURES ARE POSSIBLE AGAIN TUESDAY MORNING ACROSS
NORTHEAST MONTANA. LISTED BELOW ARE RECORD LOWS AT SELECT
LOCATIONS FOR DECEMBER 15TH (FIRST) AND 16TH (SECOND) FOLLOWED BY
THE YEAR OF OCCURRENCE IN THE SAME ORDER. THE PERIOD OF RECORD
VARIES AT EACH LOCATION.

QUITE THAT COLD...BUT IT WOULD PLACE IN THE TOP FIVE COLDEST FOR
THAT TIME PERIOD.
