I've just bought a 5 month colt form a friend. Its a qtr. horse filley, she is in super shape execpt for her hooves.I don't know if its a lack of certain minerals or shes just rough.they are splitting on the bottom of the foot and cracking pretty bad.I feed her 10% of sweet feed daily about 1/2 gal.
I also have somr sheep that will try to eat with her and she will kick at them and hit the stall wall, but it seems mostly with her hind hooves with some in the front splitting also, but mostly in the hind. This is my first colt and I want her to have every fighting chance to have it all.Any help is appreciated. Thanks
