I do not totally disagree with you Yanuk.  I can not say that there is any true feasable use for an assault rifle to hunt with or for self defense.  Although, if you think that banning assault rifles will stop this you are mistaken.  Not only will things like this still happen, the banning of assault rifles will just be the beginning to a nation wide gun ban.  I am a hunter and own several guns of all makes and models.  I am by no means a excellent shot.  You said that the shooting lasted 8 minutes.  I would almost guarantee you that if someone with my capablities and firearm ownership were to commit the same crime they would have killed more people than this young man did.  No, I do not own an assault rifle and the only semi-automatic weapon I have is a shotgun.  I bet it would amaze you what kind of damage you could do with a muzzle loader in 8 minutes, if you had a plan and were effecient with it.  It would be simple to do that much damage when there is no threat of someone defending themselves or others.  As soon as the shooter knew he was going to be confronted he took his own life.  If there is a ban on one firearm it will lead to a ban on all firearms.  I could not agree with Soap's post on Huckabee's comments anymore.  Not only do we need to bring God back into our society and pray for the victims of this trajedy, we need to pray for the young man that committed this terrible crime.  Why you ask, because that is what Christians do.  God loves everyone equally, psycho killer or innocent children, he doesn't pick one over the other.  Maybe if this young man had been introduced to God and shown his love, this may have never happened.
