contest suggestions

how about rainbows? I just took a good picture tonight.

I suppose a panorama picture would be considered a "edited" picture? I couldn't get far enough away to get the whole thing in 1 picture so had to combine 4 pictures.

I did get a nice shot of one side of it so I have a shot to enter in the contest, the panorama would be too big.

Just a thought, how about a nature panorama shot contest.

if someone wanted to enter and had several pictures they could pm them to me and I could combine them into 1 shot.

to make a panorama look through the viewfinder and take the first shot then without putting the camera down turn a little to the side and take another picture but make sure the next picture overlaps the scene from the first pic. take 3 or 4 pictures this way so the program can overlap them to make 1 picture.

As for the panorama, if there is interest, we'll do it.

My camera doesn't do panaramic pictures...I don't know if I could take three and put them together like that...be interesting to try tho.

My el-cheap-o camera doesn't do panorama pics either, I have a photo album program that splices them all together so it is as easy as dragging them into the boxes in the right order and pushing the button.

I didn't figure many people would have a program or a camera that makes pans, so thats why I voluntered to join the pictures into 1 for anyone that wanted to try it.

I gave a discription of how to take the 3 or 4 shots to combine so that they would be even at the tops and bottom.

If someone would like to try it, just send me a pm and I will give you my e-mail address so you can e-mail me the pictures and I will join them and send the combined picture back.

I think what would be proper here is to allow panoramic photos in the contest. However that does mean they have been edited.

What do you think folks? Aye? Nay?

We want to see terrific photos and this is one way of doing it.
The editing would be to put natural pictures together, not delete
anything out of the photos, etc.

Sounds alright to me, I"m willin to give it a try......LOL don't know what I'll take a picture of that's panaramic tho yet. Sounds like a good way to get peoples minds a workin.
