Yup, cloudy, cool and rainy here today also, but damn sure not dreary!

We got over a half an inch! Yippee!

Didn't look like you fellers even had to take your slickers off from your saddles.

Sure do like that hat that Peaches is wearing. :D

:D

And there lies the problem. :(

I'd feel more sorry for you, if I hadn't been reading about all the rain you guys was getting when we wasn't getting any, this summer. :D

"Sides, you guys had some hay to put up, at least. :D

Hey, when you gong to come up and look at this nice Paint I got up here. You or Saddle Tramp sure would look good on him.

Of course, he's a pretty nice colt, so maybe Peaches should be getting a new one.

Ain't she got a birthday coming up or something?

Kinda short summer wasn't it ?? Peach Blossom didn't get stuck going back to headquarters did she ? Some things stick for a long time you know

Well I feel pretty lucky soapweed..we got an inch of rain today! Even had to use the windshield wipers...lol That's a first for a long time..good thing too,,,i was havin a hard time seeing through all the dust  ...

Soapweed, I don't remember ever seeing that Black Bart paint horse before. Have you been holding out on us?

And Kadoka has a coon tail. Those are my all-time favorites.
They are ALWAYS good horses. We bought this 4 year old last
fall when he was 3. I talked Mr. FH into it because he had a coon tail. I was right, he's a good one!!!!!!!!

(even if they are bad, they're good. )

Thanks for the pictures!!

Hahahahaha!!!

See the picture of Kadoka where you can see his back end pretty well?
See the white hairs at the top of his tail? Those white hairs make that horse a "Coon tailed" horse. They can have a lot of white hairs, sometimes it can even look like they are rings there. Some have a
lot, and some have not much. They usually have roan in their
flanks, too, but not always.

Hope this helps.

P.S. Even though coon-tailed horses are pretty unusual, you'll see quite a few at the NFR.

He is an eleven-year-old registered Paint that I traded for this summer, but hadn't ridden much yet. As this morning was so cold and windy, I knew my main horses good enough to know they'd probably have some buck in them. For self-preservation, I decided to ride Black Bart, knowing that he was fairly gentle. Actually, a lady you sent my way, mtn_90, and her husband are coming tomorrow to look at the black paint. If they decide not to take him, it won't hurt my feelings because he is a very nice horse.

Those are great pictures!! Wasn't it a beauitlful day!!?? We got a spit of rain...brother in-law up north 10 miles got 1 1/2 inches. As least someone is getting it. At least it wasn't 100 with the wind a howling. Had to keep a sweater on for the day and I started checking the kids winter gear. They still wanted to go swimming today after school.

Hey, the only way you find out is to ask.. I'll still be horse moron for a while longer as I have a heck of a time with some of the colors when I see them (And of course different people call the same thing diffent things which doesn't help this flatlander)

Assuming NFR is national finals Rodeo?

Yes, those are another batch of dang good pictures Soapweed. :!: Your country sure looks fine for this year. We had the few showers last nite too, but they didn't amount to much.

Thanks for taking the time to post the pictures for us.

At the black paint? I sent them to look at the black horse you told me about earlier. What happened to him?

Sorry, I answered this last night but forgot to hit "Submit".

A month or so ago, I traded the black horse straight across for this eleven-year-old black paint. Hadn't had a chance to ride him until yesterday. It was such a cold windy day, that I knew if I rode any of my more regular horses, they would probably buck me off. I chose the black paint, knowing he was fairly gentle. He turned out to be such a nice horse, that I wish I'd not put a price on him. From a hilltop, mounted on the horse, I even called the lady who was coming to look and told her I'd give her $300 to just stay home and forget the deal. :? She didn't, and she and her husband took the horse home this morning. I think they will like Black Bart. :-)

Same thing happened to us once, Soapweed. We bought a horse that was a good heel horse and ranch horse. Before we bought him we had someone interested in him. This fellow gives clinics and used to be a good roper, but had quit roping. He was looking for a rope horse for his son.
Well, we priced the horse before we even got him. Brought him home and took him to the roping arena for this fellow to try. Mr. FH is not a heeler and he heeled off this horse and never missed one. The guy that was intersted roped off him and he too, never missed one. This horse rated so well, that you were always in the right place for the best shot. Well, he took him and the boy learned to rope on him and then used him all through high school rodeo. He had a good home, as I'm sure Black Bart will so that helps some. But, we learned, NEVER PRICE THEM BEFORE YOU RIDE THEM! :P
