Corn going bad?

Anybody from Iowa who can comment on this picture of smoldering corn or in general about the corn storage problems widely reported this winter?

Corn is hard to keep over the summer. And conditions this year and last makes storing corn not worth the hassle...

I heard they had 3 piles the same size all look like that. It was wet to start with, so the troubles began. It gives me a new understanding and appreciation for the elevators that took wet corn in and now are stuck with the spoilage, but they did dock the farmers for the moisture big time. At least the farmers got to get harvest done but it was a big loss to the farmer and now it looks like the elevator as well.

You can bet there is some kind of GOV insurance. No one would be that reckless.

seems like this story might have 2 sides.#1 bad news,hot smoldering corn
#2 good news,on back side of the pile of corn are several newer pick-ups
tractors and combines.government subsidies gone bad???
