What is with this corn market? I am not sure what is closed at today, but last I looked, it was down 24. Last week it was going up as fast as it could, and now it looks like it is doing just the opposite. I hope it stables itself out so the cattle market can take hold.

The last couple weeks on the corn market sure took the bloom off of feeder prices. Don't know if it is a buying opportunity or not, as there are still lots of analysts saying we're on track for $6 corn by spring. Best you can do is lock in your feed needs when you buy the calves, that way you can preserve your projected profit.

More corn in the country has some to do with it but some big wigs pulled out of the market or sold off some. All the markets are a joke why would corn and wheat climb like it did for a month then fall in two days? Its not just the crop report that does that.

I truely believe corn prices have nothing to do with supply or demand. Corn price is a market manipulation by traders. Mark Casa (RealMoney Contributor This Author

I suppose the Fed might be tempted to buy corn while they accumulate our nation's debt...I'm a scale up seller from 4.88 to 5.00...QE Corn- I like the sound of it..and yes Jim,it's about as liquid as the S&P futures today.. I'm looking to sell Mar Sugar back above 24.10

Position: short Corn

I'd bet most of these buyers and sellers of corn will never take delivery of what they buy nor do they have any corn in a field or bin to sell. Never will. But what they do does have a major effect on the livestock industry and farmers.[/b]
