We attended the Country Gold Concert at the Deadwood Grand in Deadwood last evening. It was fabulous!! Great music, great songs
and more than great entertainers. Leroy Van Dyke, Eddy Raven, T.
Graham Brown and Bobby Bare. It lasted 2 hours and we weren't ready
for it to end. Leroy Van Dykes son played Steel Guitar and played
"White Lightening" as an instrumental and it was just amazing. Bobby
Bare is looking quite frail, but you couldn't tell by his voice. It was as
strong as ever. Leroy Van Dyke sang "The Auctioneer Song" and never
missed a beat. He was on stage first and sang that song last;
we were sure hoping he would sing it and he did! He said he thought of it while in the
military in Korea and it just came to him, and he's not a songwriter! :?
I forgot my camera :? and tried taking pictures with my camera. If they
turned out, I'll add them to this post.
If you get the opportunity to attend a Country Gold Concert, I encourage
you to do so. I'm glad we went. These guys aren't going to be around
forever.
