Sat nite in Devine, Texas, the Cowboy church had free hot dogs, hamburgers, and watermelon slices for all who would gather at the local rodeo arena.
I had the priveledge to watch Mr. Pau Daily of Trout, LA demonstrate his form of ministry. Paul sets up a round pen, has two wonderful youngsters, ride good Quarter Horses around with the American Flag, followed by the Christian Flag, presented with the same respect. Then he explains that in his years as a horse trainer, he was kinda wild and rebellious, and one day he realized his life was not fullfilling. His wife and kids were off at work and school respectively, and he was working a horse in the round pen as usual. He heard an inner voice say "You see that horse?" He said "Of course I see that horse!" "What's he doing?" Well he's acting ornery, mean and tuff, and not doing what I want him to." "Paul, that's what you been doing with me!"
Well the story goes on, and he explains it all during the next hour and 45 minutes, as he gets this wild horse, gently under control, to the point of saddelin and riding the pony by the end of that time. Then he has an open altar call in the round pen at the end.
Man, that was wonderful a church service as I've ever witnessed.
I never met Paul before, and I'm not tootin his horn for profit. but he has a website at www.wildhorseministries.com. He records each service on video and sells the dvd or vhs of his work in the round pen at the services. He travels the whole U.S. with this, so you could probably book him for your area. I'm not working for Paul, I'm just sayin.

Not to rain on anyone's parade here, and I appreciate good horsemanship as much or more than anyone...BUT...

I know of a horse that was ruined by this man wanting to get the horse
in the amount of time HE allowed...didn't go by the horses' clock...and the
horse wasn't ready. I really believe in MOST instances what he is doing
works, but not always.

As I said, I didn't mean to rain on anyone's parade, but you must question
anyone that has a set time to 'get' a horse where he wants them to be
mentally.

We had wildhorse ministries come to Hereford, Tx about three years ago and he was really good. My friend saw him one time when he tied two unbroke colts together and did a marriage seminar right on the spot. They both fought each other until the weaker colt submitted and then they worked as a team. It was pretty neat story. If you have a chance to see Paul, take it!

I liked how he explained every move he made and what he wanted the horse to do.like one step toward me, just one step, and so on. But when he started talking about himself and God, and when a horse gets to old and is still willful and of no use to mankind, he gets a red X and goes to the sale and the killer pen. don't want my grandkids riding him or yours either!
Then he tells about movin 1800 head of cattle in three herds for a week from summer range to winter range. He coming in drag on the last bunch, and the range boss sittin on his pony, staring real hard at each cow. Every now an then he's tie a knot in his rein. He was counting those cows to see how many he started with, and how many he had to enter the gate. He was also looking to see each cow was wearing his brand. He would't feed a cow that wasn't wearing his brand through the winter.
Then Paul pulls out a wad of 30 or so reins, all tied in a hundred knots and asks you to come in the round pen an if you haven't done so before, decide to follow Christ, and become his own.
Man, that really gives you chills !! You just want to be sure your name's in one of them knots ! In the winter of your life, you want to go IN that gate, and not be turned back OUT to the BADLANDS.
