just be to argumentive, I'd say maybe they are looking for mineral.

"the stinker"....I've NEVER heard hay called that around here.
Just what kind of hay is it?

We've had cows eat hay that looked bad, like turned to tobacco,
but they are telling us, it's pretty darn good hay. In fact, they
love it. Maybe that's what you call stinker hay...

Stinker: moldy, discoloured, weedy, obvious to anyone that it is poor. Always amazes me how cows just have to try it when they have been on excellent feed.
Our cows don't look for mineral.... They know better :wink: :shock: :lol:
 
I can't speak for the cows around here...but the people that are working off in the woods are having a terrible time with chiggers and ticks. Maybe the cows know this and are tryin their best to avoid them LOL
